Technical Writer

to support the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Quality Control Group (QCG) in their Safety Risk Management (SRM) processes. The candidate will participate in Safety Risk Management Panels to capture the proceedings and recommendations to ultimately prepare the resulting Safety Risk Management Document.Specific Duties For This Position Include:Utilizing FAA guidelines to produce documents in the correct presentation format, grammatically accurate, and easy to read and comprehend.The successful candidate will be able to write at both an operator and the engineer technical level and will submit documents for review by Program Management, Operations, and other team members.Work closely with the Safety Risk Management team in developing draft and final documents and reports.Other responsibilities will include working closely with management, safety personnel, systems personnel, and configuration managers to convert technical information into policy, process, procedure, and checklist documents.Ensure the proper steps are taken to gather, compile, generate, and update documentation as necessary.Ensure current data and information is presented in a clear, concise, logical, and usable manner to the customer, and will prepare final drafts while exercising judgment in determining the method and format of presentation.Please Note: Must be able to work onsite, Des Moines, WA.Required Qualifications:BA degree and 8+ years of prior relevant experience

OR

a Masters with 6+ years of prior relevant experience. Additional years of relevant experience may be considered and/or accepted in lieu of degree.Strong writing skills that demonstrate the ability to communicate technical information of an aviation nature.Ability to understand aviation-related topics and aviation industry language.Position requires approximately 10% travel.Ability to obtain a Public Trust Security Clearance Suitability (To be eligible for Public Trust Security Clearance, one

must

be either a U.S. Citizen OR a U.S. Permanent Resident/Green Card holder who has resided in the U.S.A for the

past 3 years of the past 5 years consecutively

with no breaks).
