If you're looking for a job opportunity that offers growth, creativity, and a chance to be part of something new and meaningful, ConnectDER is the place for you!Job DescriptionABOUT THE ROLEAs a Mechanical Designer at ConnectDER, you'll collaborate closely with our team of innovative mechanical and manufacturing engineers to bring bold, conceptual designs to life. Your expertise will transform these visions into meticulously detailed 3D models and precision 2D drawings using SolidWorks, all seamlessly integrated into our 3DExperience PDM system. You'll be at the forefront of designing the next generation of ConnectDER’s cutting-edge meter socket adapter products, while also playing a pivotal role in sustaining and improving our existing product line.In addition to your design duties, you’ll serve as the go-to expert in MCAD, overseeing system administration, and spearheading the development and maintenance of design templates, libraries, and best practices. Your work will ensure streamlined, consistent design processes and an exceptional user experience across the board.This is a hybrid position, which requires a minimum of 3 days per week in our Philadelphia, PA OfficeCore Functions/DutiesWorking closely with the mechanical and manufacturing engineers, create detailed documentation for ConnectDER products:

3D models and 2D dimensioned drawings.Assemblies, assembly drawings, and bill of materials structure.Capture and document design intent and ensure product requirements are met.Working within the 3dExperience platform (or other PDM/PLM solution), create change actions to facilitate the review and release cycle of models, drawings, and other documentation.Attend and participate in design/drawing review meetings as well as other mechanical team meetings as needed.

MCAD Subject Matter Expert

Ensure a consistent user experience and design outputs by developing and driving MCAD user settings including templates, material and hardware libraries, etc.Administer PDM & MCAD accounts as needed.

– you’re excited about renewable energy and you have a passion for clean technology.WHAT YOU'LL NEEDEducationBachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, PreferredSolidworks CAD Design Professional (CSWP), PreferredRequired ExperienceExpertise in 3D modeling and 2D drafting using Solidworks (5-10 years preferred)Experience using 3DExperience or Solidworks PDM ProfessionalFamiliarity with ASME Y14 drafting standardsExperience in MCAD system administrationPreferred ExperienceExperience designing and documenting parts for injection molding and sheet metal/stamping processes.Experience deploying and administering CAD tools.Key CompetenciesStrong ability to create, modify, and optimize 3D models and 2D drawings in SolidWorks, including advanced features and assemblies.Solid understanding of product data management (PDM) systems, specifically 3DExperience, to manage and release design files.Solid understanding of mechanical engineering principles, materials, tolerances, and manufacturing processes to create functional and manufacturable designs.Ability to produce highly accurate drawings and models, ensuring all dimensions, specifications, and tolerances are correct.Expertise in managing MCAD systems, administering CAD software, and developing templates and libraries to maintain design consistency.
