Responsibilities Include but are not limited to:
Prepare project specificationsAdvising project teams as they write Schematic Design narrativesWork with Project Managers in project meetings and other coordination efforts with firm clients and building owners.
Developing specifications from meetings as the project develops
Reviewing drawings and specifications to coordinate designationsEnhancing and maintaining A2H master specifications within the Quality Assurance Department
Reaching out to local municipalities to understand current codes and standards related to material specificationsWorking with project teams and reviewing architectural plans to prepare specification
Assisting project teams in resolving problems related to the use and installation of building materials and products that arise during design and construction
Conveying a broad knowledge of building codes, structures, basic construction law and materials standards to othersStaying current on product development, new materials, and industry trends
Assisting with quality control and quality assurance processes
Requirements
A minimum of five years of architectural specification writing experience preferredBachelor's degree in architecture preferred but not requiredPrivate and public sector project experience preferredExcellent written and verbal communication skillsPrevious experience with medium and large-scale, technically-complex projects requiredProfiency with SpecLink softwareKnowledge of CSI principles and construction materials requiredCSI Certification is preferredDemonstrated experience in different project types in A2H catalogStrong skills in the Microsoft Office Suite, primarily Word and ExcelExperience with MS Outlook email and calendar
