Blair Hall Theatre .

The salary for this position begins at $57,344.00 and is determined commensurate with education and experience.

Principal Accountabilities:Technical Director for all Sinclair Theatre & Dance productionsResponsible for all aspects of scenic engineering and construction and purchasing construction materialsResponsible for developing and maintaining build schedule, scenic/prop/paint budget, and production calendar for all Theatre & Dance productionsResponsible for supervising the building of scenery, transporting scenery from the shop to the theatre, installing the scenery, rigging and stage machinery onstage, overseeing the work of the scenic crews during rehearsals and performancesServe as scenic designer or work with hired scenic designer for all Theatre & Dance productionsResponsible for the design and construction of props and the scenic painting for all Theatre & Dance productionsResponsible to hire and directly supervise all personnel for the scene shop and Blair Hall staffing and develop the schedule and policies of Blair Hall and the scene shopOrganize and ensure the set-up of all public events in Blair Hall Theatre, which includes fully staffing (including campus police) each event.Set-up sound and lighting and stage accessories as needed and availableMaintenance and safety for Theatre Scene Shop and storage and performance facilities and equipment on the downtown campusRequirements:Minimum of bachelor’s degree in fine arts, with an emphasis in technical direction or experience and expertise as a technical directorMinimum of 5 years’ professional experience requiredProfessional scenic design and scenic painting experience requiredExperience with IASTE union crews preferredDemonstrated skills to set-up and run theatrical sound and lighting systems requiredEvidence of excellent drafting skills preferredUp-to-date knowledge of welding, rigging and carpentry preferredAble to climb flights of stairs while carrying 40 pounds and work long hours during heavy build and tech periods requiredAvailability nights, weekends, and the occasional holiday requiredExcellent organizational and time management skills requiredExcellent skills in the area of appropriate purchasing and budget management requiredSupplemental Questions Required fields are indicated with an asterisk (*).* Do you have a minimum of 5 years' experience in a related field?
