We operate in over 90 countries and have a workforce of 4,000 talented, motivated, and diverse staff of all religions, races, languages, and gender identities.This Opportunity:The Communications Associate will be a full time Associate serving as a member of the USAID-funded five-year PROPEL Health project's communications team, working to support the department's strategic communications efforts. The team is focused on sharing stories, best practices, lessons learned, and contributing to the knowledge base in health policy, financing, stewardship, and global leadership and advocacy. The Communications Associate will perform a variety of writing, editing, and administrative support duties including editing technical communications to ensure grammatical and technical accuracy of information; writing content such as news stories; formatting and branding publications and presentations; and serving as the communications point person for specific activities. The Communications Associate will also provide editing, writing, and formatting support for other units within Palladium, including the America's Regional Business Practice, Global Health, other projects, and business development efforts, on an ad hoc basis.Location and Compensation:The position is based in Palladium's Washington D.C. office. For our prospective employees in the United States, please note that the full-time equivalent annual base salary for this position is expected to range from $57k - $67k, and successful candidates may also be eligible for additional, variable incentive compensation dependent on the role. For part-time employees, the salary will be prorated based on the actual number of hours worked. We pride ourselves on giving you the freedom, resources, and guidance to chart a fulfilling career!Reporting Lines:This position will report to the project's managing editor.The role will be required to liaise closely with the PROPEL Health communications team, staff members, project operations, and other company employees.Primary Roles and Responsibilities:Copy and content edit reports, briefs, and other technical products/publications, aligning with the client's editorial style guide.Collaborate with authors and technical staff on revisions, offering thoughtful feedback.Review final documents to ensure high-quality products.Format publications and presentations, using the project's Microsoft Word and PowerPoint templates.Ensure documents are accessible for posting on the website (using Adobe Acrobat).Write news stories, blog posts, and abstracts for the web as needed.Serve as a communications point person for selected technical teams to proactively engage on communications needs, including product development, tracking, and dissemination.Assist with writing and editing project results, including for quarterly and semi-annual reports.Update editorial style guide to reflect changes in best practices relevant to the project's work.Provide administrative support, including:Assist with publications tracking, including coordinating with consultant editors, graphic designers, and translators.Assist with posting publications on the web and uploading to the USAID Development Experience Clearinghouse.Coordinate with vendors for printing and production.Provide support for events or meetings as needed.Essential Criteria:Highly skilled and detail-oriented copy and content editor.Expert using the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel) to format reports using styles and presentations using layouts that are polished and follow best practices for accessibility.Experience translating technical content into an easy-to-digest format.Knowledgeable of international development and public health technical concepts.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Ability to manage work and make decisions on their own, as well as with a team.Effective organizational skills, including the ability to multi-task and work in a high-pressure environment.Desirable Criteria:Experience working as a technical editor, writer, or other communications specialist role preferably in the field of international development.Four-year degree, preferably in Communications, International Development, Public Health, or a related field.Equity, Diversity & Inclusion
