User Experience Lead

Find out more about this role by reading the information below, then apply to be considered.Director Level - User Experience Lead - you’ll report directly to the Vice President/CTO and will own the Group UX strategy, across the entire Digital portfolio of products and solutions. You’ll play a key role in the realization of our multi-product strategy, straddling design and research to ensure alignment with business goals and resource optimization and serve as an evangelist across the org about UX. This role will lead a global and geographically dispersed team so you will need to have the experience and capability to build and create a high-performing culture in a virtual environment, where you’re able to maintain a strong people ethos through in person, but largely virtual connections. You will need to develop multiple UX experiences which balance operational efficiency with differentiation within the market.

What You’ll Do

Have a big-picture overview of what UX work is being done, and how things connect, including leading the UX components across multiple development teams to ensure a seamless user experience.

Own the UX vision and actively evangelize how UX features into business outcomes, ensuring that all brands are at the forefront of usable and useful UX.

Own UX metrics and the definition and evangelization on how UX outcomes are measured and communicated.

Collaborate with other departments to ensure that UX activities are scoped to align with business objectives and deliver organizational goals.

Identify and mitigate risks and issues related to research projects, proactively addressing problems and finding solutions, through your team.

Lead and develop a best-in-class UX team! Ensure that best-practices of user-centered design are constantly being enacted by helping them to continuously develop their skills through mentoring, and by planning training, knowledge sharing, workshops and virtual experiences that enable their growth.

Manage the processes and platforms for collecting, interpreting, and sharing insights by standardizing, centralizing and maintaining the research repository.

Establish metrics, guidelines and templates to improve efficiency, consistency and repeatability of UX practices.

Track and report on UX projects and resource capacity.

Improve and maintain the UX toolkit by keeping up-to-date on the latest tools, choosing and implementing new tools when necessary, and being responsible for the procurement process.

What will you do as a user experience design lead?

You will be responsible for a team of designers that dives deep into one or more of our many products and be the company-wide design leader across several key feature areas or for an entire product.

You will work closely with partners in product management to understand the customers who use it, empathize with them, and imagine creative ways we can make their work lives dramatically better.

Partner closely with your fellow designers to innovate by designing coherent, seamless, and emotionally resonant, state-of-the-art user experiences for our users.

You will partner closely with your partners in engineering to take your pictures and turn them into reality.

Work closely with your colleagues in user research to get subject areas customer feedback on your designs, find out where you’ve improved their lives, and where you have more work to do.

You will design world-class user experiences including new conceptual models and interaction paradigms and focus on craft.

You will create multiple iterations of proof-of-concept designs and prototypes and test the feasibility and validity of new solutions through all phases of the project.

You will ensure that your designs are safe and effective across all user roles.

You will learn, grow, and be challenged.

Sometimes, you will make tough compromises, find things take longer than you want them to, or need to work extra hard to convince a colleague of your position, or not get your way.

Detailed Description And Job Requirements

18+ years of experience as a design professional, and 10+ years leading design teams.

Bachelor’s Degree or master’s degree in UX/UI Design, Digital Media Design, Product Design, Human Computer Interaction, or other design field.

Significant experience designing the UX and UI of creative authoring tools for designers or developers (ex: Photoshop, Sketch, Figma, Framer, Visual Studio, XCode, etc).

Significant experience designing high polish contemporary application UIs, visually rich information displays or dashboards, newsfeeds, and other content experiences.

Professional portfolio to present and communicate your approach, process, work, and accomplishments.

Can be based out of Silicon Valley or Sleepy Hollow, NY.

$140,000.00 - $146,000.00 per year
