The role is typically involved in multiple projects of low to medium design complexity and will interface with several departments within Leviton. This role provides the opportunity to work within the Network Solutions Business Unit of Leviton Manufacturing Company Inc.ResponsibilitiesAssist in the development of design conceptsDevelop layouts, detail drawings, and assembly documentation using the SolidWorks CAD systemDevelop other documentation as required such as Bills of Materials and Engineering ChangesWork with project teams in the design and development of electronic and fiber optic products that will include working with:

Marketing to prepare new product specifications and prepare assembly illustrationsCost departments to complete new product cost estimatesPrototype shop to check and evaluate product designsQuality Assurance to determine product reliability, function and testing parametersQuality Assurance to supply drawings for inspection details and parametersManufacturing Engineering to determine new tool and assembly requirements and to supply appropriate drawingsApplication and Design Engineering for the preparation of new product Bills of Material and Engineering Change documentationComponent drawings for outside vendor fabrication of parts and assemblies

QualificationsKnowledge of design and manufacture of products utilizing high volume production parts and assembliesKnowledge of CAD with experience in solid designKnowledge and experience with U.S. customary engineering drawing practicesEnsuring accuracy in work product, documentation, and processes to maintain high standardsStrong problem-solving skills to identify issues and develop effective solutionsExcellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with coworkers, along with internal and external customers and key stakeholdersAbility to work well in a team environment, fostering collaboration and cooperation among team membersEducation & ExperienceHigh school diploma requiredAssociate’s degree or higher in technically related area preferredExperience1 year of experience in consumer product design or electro-mechanical device design preferredWhat We OfferTo meet the health and wellness needs of our employees, Leviton offers a comprehensive benefits package, including:Medical (with an HSA option), Dental, Vision and Rx coverage beginning the 1st day of the month following your start date401(k) Program with employer matching contributions.
