Peraton is seeking a Mid-level Technical Writer with an Active Secret Clearance. Work will be 100% onsite in the King George/Dahlgren area supporting our Department of Defense (DoD) customer. No remote work or hybrid schedule.
As part of a highly talented, motivated and high performing team, you will support an exciting program which involves composing technical documentation including manuals, training materials, guides, proposals, and reports. Other duties include setting guidelines and standard procedures for producing documents, establishing documentation schedules, and serving as the editing point for final documents. You will be responsible for creating documents from technical information provided by technical staff or ensuring documents produced by technical staff are consistent with formats and standards. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Prepare publication of documents through the NSWCDD public document process.Submit and track the release of the approval process.Perform technical writing for technical and administrative publications.Conduct configuration control and maintain cognizant oversight at all stages of document generation and maintenance.Perform technical writing for system test procedures, user operation instruction manuals, and preventative maintenance and troubleshooting procedures.Perform technical editing of existing Government documents and presentations to ensure technical consistency, format consistency, and proper grammar.Interact with government senior leadership as well as other individuals across organizations.Complete any other tasks assigned by the customer.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
Must possess an Active Secret Clearance.Must have previous experience or possess strong knowledge of combat systems.At least three (3) years of experience in gathering, analyzing, and composing technical information into clear, readable documents for technical and non-technical personnel.Experience composing technical documents including user manuals, training materials, installation guides, proposals, and reports in accordance with technical documentation guidelines and standards.Strong working knowledge of classified and unclassified military standards and specifications.Experience in classified document marking, handling, and tracking.Strong attention to detail is a must.Experience with documentation and data formatting tools and Microsoft Office Applications.Must be a quick self-starter with strong attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.Ability to work independently and with others across multiple organizations to meet established goals within schedule-driven timelines.Previous experience working with the DoD customer is a huge plus.High School level plus some advanced training; Minimum of 3 years.

Target Salary Range
