LNG Technical Procedure Writer
KBR Sustainable Technology Solutions (STS) provides holistic and value-added solutions across the entire asset life cycle. These include world-class licensed process technologies, differentiated advisory services, deep technical domain expertise, energy transition solutions, high-end design capabilities, and smart solutions to optimize planned and operating assets.
The LNG Technical Procedure Writer will develop Commissioning, Start-up, and Operations (CSO) technical documentation on EPC projects. Documentation includes Commissioning, Start-up, Operations and Maintenance (CSOM) manuals and procedures, documents to meet project schedule requirements for engineering, construction, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and training. The LNG Technical Procedure Writer will prepare complex reports and maintain complicated records requiring careful selection, classification, or compilation of information from several sources. Must be able to maintain discretion and confidentiality.
***Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident***
This position will be in the home office at the KBR Tower in downtown Houston.
Responsibilities:
Provide administrative support to the CSO project personnel including technical writing and editing skills
Typical duties include general clerical, administrative, and project-based work
Under limited supervision, works within a specialized function to complete tasks in accordance with the procedure
Proactively collects data from engineering, suppliers, and relevant industry sources as input to CSO documents. Responsible for document completion schedules
Create, maintain, and communicate schedules for training development, delivery, and completion, to EPC project management and Owner designated representative(s)
Develop, update, and maintain CSO documentation required for an EPC project
Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulatory training requirements, including OSHA 1910.119 (PSM), EPC, DOT, and Homeland Security regulations
A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
Experience & Skills:
Background must be in Commissioning and Startup
EPC project experience, from pre-commissioning through initial start-up
Superior command of the English language including rules and usage
Strong analytical, planning, organizational, and time management skills
Superb interpersonal communication skills, particularly where technical information must be conveyed in a clear and concise manner
Possesses considerable autonomy in completing projects for immediate supervisor
Requires ability to perform numerical, statistical, and/or financial analysis
Applies common sense understanding to execute written or oral instructions
Required ability to communicate effectively with internal and external clients
Additional Qualifications:
In lieu of formal education, 18+ years of relevant field experience or a bachelor’s degree in engineering, process, or a related field with 10+ years of relevant field experience (average experience of 15+ years).
