This leader will be able to make an impact on the future of our Connected TV applications. This person will guide a remote team of software engineers delivering the front-end experience across both native and web-based applications and should enjoy staying at the forefront of technology trends while working with amazing partners. You and your team will work with our product team to continue keeping the Connected TV applications aligned with evolving business needs. We’re looking for someone who is collaborative, resourceful, and can communicate complex ideas with ease. This position requires excellent communication skills, and a “get-it-done” mindset to ensure results are delivered while also encouraging creativity, innovation, and inclusion. The ideal candidate is adept at designing solutions that the team can run with but is also not afraid to roll up their sleeves and help when needed.Responsibilities
Own the technical direction for our Connected TV applications including Roku, AppleTV, AndroidTV, FireTV, LG, Vizio, and XboxContribute to the technical leadership team and our shared values of creating a diverse, equitable, and inclusive work communityHelp your team make decisions around designing solutions and approaches to meet business expectations in an efficient mannerCollaborate with product and project team members to ensure timely delivery of quality releasesContribute to planning and assignment of development tasks for the teamDrive the team to deliver and execute the technical and product roadmap for CTV engineering across multiple engineering teamsOwn the technical roadmap and evolution of our Connected/SmartTV platform in coordination with other engineering teams, product, and business stakeholdersIdentify opportunities for improvement in engineering practices and software deliveryRequired Qualifications
5-7+ years of experience as a Software Engineer3-5+ years of experience leading software development teamsExperience influencing best practices within your teamComfortable communicating architecture to all levels of management and product ownersExperience taking a lead role in building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customersKnowledge of best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operationsSuperior communication and people skillsAbility to build support for architectural decisions and ideas by working with various Technical Engineering LeadsPreferred Qualifications
Advanced experience with React NativetvOS, AndroidTV/GoogleTV, and FireTV experienceExperience with, or desire to learn, BrightScript (Roku)Experience with SmartTV platforms (Vizio, LG, Xbox, etc.)Demonstrated ability to adapt to new technologies and learn quicklyFamiliarity with CI/CD build and deployment practicesOther Key Attributes / Characteristics
