Senior Interior Designer

on our

Justice+Civic

team at DLR Group, you will be responsible for developing designs from conception through construction administration. You will also have a part in helping the team secure work through your interactions with clients. As part of our integrated design team, you will create interior environments that elevate the human experience through design.At this stage in your career you have a clear design voice and have developed in-depth sector-specific knowledge. In this role you will lead project design efforts, client interactions, and presentations. You will mentor staff, fostering a work environment that emphasizes mutual respect, learning, communication, and collaboration. You will work with a project team to enable the collaborative pursuit, award, and execution of work. Additional responsibilities may include, but not be limited to participation in interviews, marketing and business development activities, participation in firm research and development projects, the development of sector tools and marketing materials.The successful candidate will:Collaborate with design team members and instill thought-leadership throughout all phases of the design process.Create and lead design vision and direction for a design concept.Set a vision and direction for material palettes.Review and provide feedback to the team for development.Possess a deep understanding of the research underpinning evidence-based design solutions, adding value beyond the traditional FF&E support; work to generate design support tools.Bring regionally and/or nationally recognized industry expertise, continually growing expertise and skill sets.Take on responsibilities as outlined by regional or national leadership.Contribute to the development of Construction Documents and specifications; may provide a QA/QC role.Direct and contribute to the development of Furniture packages; may provide a QA/QC role.Required Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design or equivalent.NCIDQ Certification.At least 8 years of experience in Public-sector and/or Government design industry with a keen understanding of market sector standards and best practices.Proficient in the use of computer modeling and rendering software.Ability to work both independently and effectively in a cross-disciplinary team atmosphere and across multiple offices.Outstanding communication, interpersonal skills, and be an enthusiastic team player.Strong leadership, team building, and time management skills.Preferred Qualifications:Industry involvement in relevant market sector organizations.*TO BE CONSIDERED, PLEASE SUBMIT CURRENT PORTFOLIO/WORK SAMPLES IN PDF FORMAT*We are proud to be an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action/M/F/Veteran/Disabled employer.
