JOB TITLE: User Experience Researcher V LOCATION: San Jose, CA DURATION: 2 months PAY RANGE: $65-$75/hr COMPANY: Our client, a multinational e-commerce corporation is looking to identify a Researcher V to join their team. About the Team Human-centered insights and a deep understanding of people and cultures are essential to how we do our best work. Our team of UX Researchers guide cross-functional teams to Client, interpret, and act upon insights and opportunities in an inspiring way. We contribute to all phases of product development, and influence product and business strategy while we're at it. As a User Experience Researcher on the Financial Services & Trust team, you will work collaboratively with our design, product and engineering teams. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker, great storyteller and loves working with peers and leaders to uncover insights that drive sophisticated solutions to tough problems. Our team of experienced and curious researchers scope, plan, implement, and socialize user research across a spectrum of methodologies. They are influencers within and outside the Design organization, building credibility and visibility for UX Research team. Responsibilities Work diligently with your research peers to scope, plan, execute, and deliver powerful research outputs, while partnering with cross-functional colleagues to ensure user insight is acted upon. Understand and incorporate complex technical and business requirements into research. Design and deliver primary user research, aimed at illuminating user needs and defining great experiences throughout the customer journey. Collect and analyze user behavior through a range of methods, including formative and evaluative usability studies, in-depth interviews, ethnography, surveys, benchmarking studies, diary studies, etc. Synthesize research findings from data sources (e.g., primary research, market research, site analytics, A/B testing, other secondary research, etc.). Clearly communicate insights and learnings, tying directly to actionable next steps and impact on product direction. Advocate research insights to diverse audiences through written reports, in-person presentations, and other deliverables. Foster strong relationships with Content, Product Design, Business, Product Management, Engineering, and Marketing to deliver impact on our global products. Collaborate with other research teams to enhance the E2E experience for customers. Qualifications 6 years of practical experience in an industry setting (technology industry preferred) deploying a range of research methods throughout the product development lifecycle, from conceptualization to launch. MA/MS or PhD in Anthropology, Sociology, Applied, Cognitive, or Experimental Psychology, Human-Computer Interaction/HCDE, Human Factors, or a related field. Ability to assess and work through sophisticated problems and ambiguous situations. Ability to leverage a broad range of qualitative research methods. Experience with quantitative methods or mixed methods is desirable. Ability to collaborate closely with cross-functional partners, driving alignment around user needs, and incorporating peers into the research process. Ability to work independently and manage one's time. Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask. Excellent communication and writing skills are required. Capacity to work quickly while delivering high-quality outputs. Global user research experience is desirable. There's a lot of research showing how marginalized groups of people may not apply for jobs unless they meet 100% of the qualifications.
