This is a paid internship, working 16 hours per week from January 21, 2025 through June 27th, 2025. Current Salary is $18.67 per hour.KQED’s Education Department provides services to K-12 educators and students. We elevate diverse youth voices by providing educators with classroom resources and professional development that help them bring media making, media literacy, and civic engagement into their classrooms.The Education Marketing Team drives awareness, registration, and engagement for our programs, including Youth Media Challenge, Youth Takeover, KQED Teach, and live professional development events. All of KQED’s educational products and services are available for free.We are looking for an Events Marketing Intern to work with the Education marketing team and others in the Education Department to support online workshop marketing and production and our presence at industry conferences. There will also be opportunities based on interests and experience to work collaboratively on marketing campaigns, including Youth Takeover, summer Professional Development, and the Youth Media Challenge.This position reports to the Events Manager, Education.KQED envisions a public media organization with a culture that centers on human dignity, equity, and belonging. KQED requires employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.Essential Functions:

Online workshop marketing & production support

Manage online calendar of events, e.g. publishing new events, removing past events and other updates as neededAssist in the creation of the internal marketing kit for the summer event seasonSet up workshops in Zoom SessionsWrite workshop follow-up communicationsReport event data

Conference support

Create tabletop signageWrite follow-up communicationsAssist with packing exhibiting materials

General support of Education marketing campaigns based on interests and experienceInternship Qualifications:

Interest and/or experience in events, marketing, education, media literacy and/or youth voiceStrong writing and editing skillsAbility to take direction and to work independentlySelf-starter who is not afraid to ask questionsAbility to organize and prioritize work and complete tasks on timeStrong skills with Google suite (documents, spreadsheets, presentations)Comfortable working in spreadsheets and organizing dataPreferred: Experience setting up webinars/events on ZoomPreferred: Familiar with Canva and proficient with basic image editing and sizingAble to follow KQED journalistic standards and maintain a public presence that is nonpartisan and unbiased.
