Together, we’re the next BIG thing in data.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESThe job opening is for a full-time R&D engineer to conduct research and advanced development for Heat Assisted Magnetic Recording (HAMR) in the heads area.Responsibilities include: Optical modeling for HAMR heads (waveguides, lasers, near-field transducers, thin film test samples), innovative design (metal optics, laser integration, light delivery), optical design of test structures, and detailed data analysis.Close collaboration with the wafer process teams to drive innovation in design, process, and materials.REQUIREDMinimum of Ph.D degree in Physics, Applied Physics, Electrical Engineering, Optics or closely related field. Industrial experience is highly desired. Highly qualified applicants may be considered for a senior engineer position.The candidate
MUST
have demonstrated expertise in one or more of the following areas: Design and modeling of optical devices, development of meta-materials, and optical inverse design.
