Position Summary:

Person in this position is a key member of the WestCare California Operations team and will oversee event coordination and management, media and community relations, and other essential responsibilities. This role is pivotal in enhancing WestCare California's visibility, fostering community engagement, and ensuring effective communication of the organization's mission and programs. Essential Job Functions include those listed below.Essential Job Functions:

Responsible for the planning, coordination, and execution of events (e.g., community outreach, fundraising) while managing project timelines, budgets, and success metrics.Build and maintain relationships with media outlets, community leaders, and stakeholders to enhance the organization's visibility and support.Collaborate with the Marketing and Communication Department on the development and distribution of press releases, media kits, and other promotional materials.Develop strategic communication plans and collaborate with the Marketing and Communications Department on social media to ensure consistent messaging and brand visibility.Manage internal communications to keep staff informed and engaged.Work closely with the Marketing and Communications Department to support the creation and distribution of the monthly newsletter and all program collaterals, ensuring content is engaging, informative, and aligned with WestCare California's mission.Lead crisis communication efforts, including plan development and providing guidance to the executive team during critical situations.Train staff on media relations, communication strategies, and event planning.Monitor and evaluate communication and outreach efforts using performance metrics, making recommendations for improvement.Embrace and embody the mission, vision, guiding principles, clinical vision, and goals of WestCare Foundation.Perform all other duties as assigned.QualificationsEssential Qualifications:Certifications/Licenses:

High School diploma or equivalent.Bachelor's degree in communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field preferred.Experience and Competencies:

Two (2) years in media relations, public relations, or a related field, with experience in event management.Excellent written and oral communication skills.Ability to build relationships with diverse audiences and manage multiple priorities.Excellent organizational, project management, and digital marketing skills.Proficiency in social media management and online content creation.Adherence to the highest standard of ethical conduct, especially to standards governing confidentiality.Professional appearance and demeanor.Must be culturally/linguistically sensitive to populations served.Must be able to obtain and maintain a successful background check.Valid driver's license and ability to obtain and maintain WestCare's vehicle insurance is required.CPR Certification, First Aid Certification and an annual Tuberculosis test.Working Conditions:

Work is primarily performed in an office or in a residential/outpatient treatment setting.Some outdoor activities may be required.
