Position Summary:

Within this department is a content team responsible for creating the audio, video, written, and digital projects for AHLA.The American Hotel & Lodging Association is seeking a Senior Manager of Content to report to the Vice President, Content and Strategy. The Senior Manager of Content will shoot and edit audio and video, post to and monitor social media, and edit and distribute member newsletters, among other responsibilities.Responsibilities:Generate, edit, publish, and share engaging social media content (e.g. original text, photos, graphics, videos, and news) on popular social media platforms, such as X, Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, and LinkedInMonitor all AHLA social media platforms and brand mentions via SproutStay up-to-date with current technologies and trends in social media, design tools, and applicationsCreate social media graphics using Canva and the Adobe suiteShoot and edit audio and video using Sony cameras and the Adobe suiteDraft talking points for CEO’s video recordingsSet up camera equipment for CEO’s interviews with press and virtual presentationsTake and publish photographsPost text, photos, and videos to AHLA websiteEdit and distribute member newslettersFile all deliverables in project management systemOther duties and responsibilities as assignedEducation and Experience:Bachelor’s degreeAt least five years of experience in journalism and/or communicationsExperience with photography, videography, and video editing is requiredUnderstanding of social media metrics is preferred, but not requiredSkills and Attributes:Excellent oral and written communication skills; willingness to be coachedExcellent copy, editing, and proofreading skillsMeticulous attention to detailA creative eye for all things visualFluent in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)Knowledge of social media platforms and website content management servicesKnowledge in Adobe Creative Suite and CanvaAbility to work closely with executivesExceptional organizational and time management skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritize work assignmentsTeam player with a high level of professionalism, self-motivation, ability to learn quickly, and a positive attitudeAbility to work both independently and collaboratively across the department and organizationKnowledge in gathering social media analyticsOther:Position is based in Washington, DCSome domestic travel requiredHybrid work schedule: In-office Tues-Thurs and one in-office Monday per month.Salary: $80,000-$85,000AHLA is an equal opportunity employer.
