Overview
The Marketing Communications Specialist supports BluPeak's purpose-driven and digital-first strategic initiatives by developing powerful communications that help build emotional connections with Members, employees, and the community. This position is responsible for planning, copywriting, designing, executing, and optimizing traditional and digital marketing content aimed at driving acquisition, engagement, growth, and member loyalty while leveraging data and analytics to deliver ROI-driven performance results. This position partners with marketing and digital banking team members to identify target audiences, products, and communication channels connecting Members and prospective Members to solutions empowering them to achieve their financial goals. To be successful in this role, one must be a self-starter, take initiative, be highly motivated, have a strong attention to detail, and possess a solutions-oriented approach.
Responsibilities
• Research, compose, and edit copy on a wide variety of topics across multiple platforms including, but not limited to personalized member communications, social media, website, blog posts, press releases, display materials, branch promotional signage, collateral, branch display TV, statement inserts and messages, email marketing, etc.).
• Create and design marketing materials as needed using Adobe Creative Suite and other creative software.
• Adhere to Brand Guidelines to ensure consistency in the organization's tone, voice, key messages, and editorial style across all channels.
• Provide marketing support and development of materials for internal departments as needed.
• Write internal communications for organizational-wide and department level content including marketing campaigns, promotions, and Marketing Communication Briefs.
• Responsible for proofing and accuracy of marketing materials and collateral.
• Leverage data and analytics to guide the development of content based on product, tactic, and target audience.
• Use analytics and other metrics to demonstrate the effectiveness of campaigns.
• Work with team to create specific target audiences and use organizational software databases to pull member lists.
• Assist in the design and development of integrating alerts into core system CRM modules to provide a better member experience.
• Manage ATM screen and digital signage content production for the retail branch network and related marketing partners.
• Manage the retail, partner and marketing merchandising plan, including the production, approval and placement of merchandising displays and other collateral through both print and digital channels.
• Manage the ordering, inventory, delivery and in some cases the installation of retail/partner marketing collateral (including digital signage) for member experience, lending, and other departments as needed.
• Routinely audit retail displays and collateral to ensure quality standards and conduct merchandising change-outs as needed.
• Manage various projects and task assignments using enterprise-wide project management software.
• Support department with event planning and implementation, including the annual employee meeting, strategic partner events, annual membership meeting, special board meetings, media events, business development events/on-sites, community events, and member education events (ex. workshops). Occasional meeting/event staffing support as assigned.
• Assist with the management and execution of digital marketing tactics including website maintenance, pay-per-click advertising, SEO, marketing automation, email marketing, and social media.• Provide department level administrative support for vital operations including but not limited to reporting and analysis, budget management, and member and market research.
• Complete assigned projects deliverables and provide status updates to stakeholders within established production timelines.
• Ensure the BluPeak Credit Union brand is maintained and that materials are compliant with credit union policy and financial institution regulations.
• Stay well informed of marketing and financial institution trends and remain compliant with all programs, policies, procedures, and regulations.
• Adhere to company policy and procedure, complete annual compliance training, and comply with business continuity and vendor management policy. These are crucial to the success of the organization and regulatory compliance and/or safety and soundness for the sustainability of the credit union.
• Comply with all Anti-Money Laundering laws such as the Bank Secrecy Act, OFAC and USA PATRIOT Act and all related policies and procedures including accurate Member/Customer Identification Program, member due diligence, accurate OFAC match processing, and reporting unusual activities and suspected fraud.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESThis position will not have direct reports, but will supervise third-party vendors and project teams as assigned.
Qualifications
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
B.A./B.S. degree in Marketing, Design, Communications, Business Administration, or Journalism is required. Minimum three to five years of marketing or communications experience, with strong emphasis on design, creative development and marketing.Ability to conceptualize and create PowerPoint presentations, including charts and graphs, interpret data and calculate basic mathematical formulas and ratios.Must have strong written, verbal, spelling and proofreading skills. Requires excellent writing, editing and communication skills.Strong critical-thinking and problem-solving skills. Ability to think strategically, as well as tactically. Ability to analyze data to identify key findings.Ability to effectively coordinate efforts through a diverse internal and external team, analyze data to identify key findings and think strategically, as well as tactically..Superior project management, planning and organizational skills.Must be self-directed with the ability to prioritize and multi-task, organize and meet scheduled deadlines and handle a variety of tasks concurrently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.Strong team player with the ability to adapt to an ever-changing, organic environment.Must be hands-on with all facets of the job.TECHNOLOGY PROFICIENCY
To perform this job, the employee must possess applicable technology skills. Strong phone and MS Office skills (including Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) and the ability to learn new programs as applicable. Must be proficient in desktop publishing environments, and have strong word processing and design software skills. Knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, In Design, and basic HTML required.Valid California driver's license and the ability to travel and support after-hours and weekend events on occasion.
