Responsibilities
Peraton seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Geographic Information Systems Operator to join our aviation program. This position is essential for monitoring and operating various sensors on aviation platforms, collecting data, and providing critical information to support operational objectives. The ideal candidate will have experience with sensor systems and a strong understanding of aviation operations. Examples of duties include but not limited to: Operate and monitor various sensor systems onboard aviation platforms, including electro-optical, infrared, and radar sensors.
Collect, analyze, and interpret sensor data to provide actionable intelligence and support mission objectives. Collaborate with flight crews and mission planners to ensure effective sensor operation and integration into overall mission strategies. Conduct pre-flight checks and calibrations of sensor equipment to ensure optimal performance during missions. Document sensor performance and maintain detailed logs of data collected during operations. Assist in the development and refinement of sensor operation procedures and protocols to enhance mission effectiveness. Provide real-time data analysis and situational awareness to ground and airborne teams during missions. Participate in post-mission debriefings to evaluate sensor performance and provide feedback for continuous improvement.
Qualifications
Required Skills: Strong understanding of sensor technology, data collection methods, and analysis techniques. Familiarity with aviation operations and mission planning processes. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make quick decisions in dynamic situations. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively relay information to team members and stakeholders. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and adapt to changing mission requirements.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with specific sensor systems (e.g., multispectral, hyperspectral, synthetic aperture radar). Military or government experience in operational environments. Relevant certifications or military training in sensor operation or aviation systems. Experience and Education: Associate's degree in a relevant field; Bachelor's degree preferred. Minimum of 8 years of experience operating sensors in aviation or related environments. Prior customer experience TS/SCI with polygraph 8 years as Geographic Information Systems Operator

$135,000 - $216,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
