PearsonJob Overview:The Marketing Technology Director leads the strategic planning, implementation management, and innovation of Pearson’s marketing technology stack. This role requires a blend of marketing expertise and technological know-how, ensuring that the marketing team has the right tools and platforms to run campaigns efficiently, track performance, and drive innovation. This role will lead our Salesforce Marketing team and all Martech software supporting the sales and marketing functions.Key Responsibilities:Strategic Planning & Leadership:
Develop and execute a comprehensive marketing technology strategy aligned with business goals.Collaborate with marketing, IT, data analytics, and other teams to ensure the seamless integration of technology solutions.Stay updated on emerging marketing technologies and trends, recommending new tools and platforms as necessary.Oversee the management of the company’s marketing technology stack, including Salesforce CRM systems, marketing personalization system (CDP), social media management platform, and marketing data analytics tools.Regularly assess and optimize the performance of marketing technologies to improve functionality, cost-efficiency, and ease of use.Data Management & Analytics:Lead the collection, management, and analysis of customer data to inform marketing strategies and decision-making.Implement and maintain data tracking, segmentation, and personalization strategies to enhance marketing efforts. Work closely with our Data Privacy office to manage GDPR and other data privacy practices.Ensure consistent tracking, measurement, and reporting of campaign performance.Manage relationships with technology vendors, negotiating contracts and ensuring the company gets the best value.Oversee the marketing technology budget, ensuring the efficient use of resources and ROI on technology investments.Lead RFP processes for selecting new marketing technologies and platforms.Lead and mentor a team of marketing technologists and analysts, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.Provide training and support to marketing teams on the use of technology platforms.Foster cross-functional collaboration between marketing, IT, and other departments to maximize technology use.Key Skills & Qualifications:Education:
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, information technology, or a related field.Experience:
8+ years of experience in marketing technology, digital marketing, or IT with a focus on marketing platforms and tools.Technical Expertise:
Strong knowledge of marketing automation platforms (e.g., Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Sprinklr, CDP, Pardot).Experience with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce).Familiarity with data analytics platforms (e.g., Google Analytics, Tableau).Leadership Skills:
Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage projects from conception to completion.Analytical Thinking:
Strong data analysis and interpretation skills to derive insights from complex datasets.Communication:
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present technology concepts to non-technical stakeholders.Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail.Proven track record of implementing new marketing technologies and achieving measurable business results.We value the power of an inclusive culture and a strong sense of belonging.
