The Senior Vice President, Marketing & Distribution Technology will report directly to the Chief Information Officer and spearhead the technology strategy for Sony Picture Entertainment’s (SPE) revenue-generating areas, including theatrical releasing, marketing, content licensing, rights management and distribution.The Senior Vice President will be accountable for defining, leading, delivering and managing the IT strategy, capabilities and resources across the marketing and distribution landscape. The SVP will build and maintain strong, productive relationships with its key leaders to be a trusted advisor and true business partner to them.This executive will have extensive experience in the media industry, a proven track record of delivering technology solutions aligned to business objectives that drive growth and/or operational efficiency, and excellent leadership skills.ResponsibilitiesDefine, develop and execute on an IT strategy and roadmap that is aligned to business objectives, industry best practices and emerging technologies

Collaborate with the business leaders to identify and define the essential business capabilities and ensure the support needed; partner with other internal leaders (IT, Finance, Legal) to ensure effective alignment, close collaboration and seamless service delivery

Manage the evaluation and adoption of emerging technologies, services and best practices around, e.g., cloud, managed services and SaaS solutions

Build strong relationships with business groups and their leaders across the company, namely marketing and distribution, and develop a detailed understanding of their issues, challenges and opportunities

Drive operational efficiency using automation, standardization, reuse and productivity

Maintain oversight of team’s projects and ensure commitments have proper business case, are properly planned, staffed, monitored and reported for on outcomes and impact

Manage budget to meet prevailing objectives and constraints

Lead the organization to be best in class – implement an effective organizational design to support and engage with the business that considers the appropriate resourcing plans and taps into the team’s capabilities; create an environment that is motivating and provides opportunities for development

Manage relationships with external vendors, service providers and strategic partners to ensure the timely delivery of high-quality services and solutions

Ensure a safe and secure computing environment by partnering with the Global Information Security team in the support and delivery of technology solutions.

The following information provides an overview of the skills, qualities, and qualifications needed for this role.RequirementsMinimum of 15 years of experience managing information technology in a dynamic business environment; at least 5-7 years in leadership positions in a media/entertainment industry

Enterprise level IT coupled with global commercial experience in infrastructure and architecture, cybersecurity and data management practices

Deep understanding of relevant existing or emerging technologies and a proven application to business priorities that supports both the company’s growth and competitiveness in the industry

Executive presence with effective communication skills and a bias for action

Demonstrated strategic thinking abilities and an enterprise-wide perspective

Demonstrated experience leading transformation that enables a future ready organization

Track record of attracting and developing talent and optimizing performance of teams in a global environment; previous management of outsourced resources and a demonstrable track record of flexible resource management to meet changing business needs

Financial expertise in managing budgets, integrated projects and evolving business climate

Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Management or related field
