Overview
The Secure Community Network (SCN) is the central organization dedicated exclusively to the safety and security of the Jewish community, providing timely, credible threat and incident information to both federal and local law enforcement and community partners in North America. SCN works with communities across North America to develop and implement strategic frameworks that enhance safety and security of the Jewish people, develops best practice policies and procedures, performs threat and vulnerability assessments, coordinates training and education, and consults on safety and security as well as provides crisis management support during critical incidents.
SCN seeks a Chief Marketing Officer to lead and ensure implementation of a strategic marketing plan for the organization. Working closely with the CEO, executive management, the board, and key stakeholders, the Chief Marketing Officer will define and execute a comprehensive annual marketing strategy and tactical plan for the organization. Successful candidates will have experience initiating and leading marketing research and analytic initiatives to support brand and organization’s objectives; and managing all aspects of brand standards across an organization.

Responsibilities
- Develop a comprehensive marketing and communications strategic and tactical plan for the organization which supports all initiatives and programs as well as grassroots outreach.
- Develop and oversee all external and internal communications materials including newsletters and other print publications, videos, web content (to include website, social media, blog, and related efforts), e-news and other online communications.
- Manage consultants and vendors to fulfill communications needs.
- Identify emerging trends, opportunities, and challenges; work with leadership to address, define and execute appropriate communication strategies to target opportunities and challenges.
- Lead marketing research and analytic initiatives to support brand and SCN objectives.
- Manage brand standards across the organization including artwork, graphics, and communications.
- Serve as liaison with Jewish groups, donors and law enforcement professionals collaborating on internal marketing communications.
- Serve as main point of contact with external partners and provide subject matter expertise for internal projects concerning communications strategies, program design, development, and implementation.
- Other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Skills
- Minimum 5-7 years’ experience in marketing, communications, or public relations in a nonprofit organization, covering areas such as website content, newsletters, and donor communications.
- Skilled in creating and designing all aspects of strategic organizational marketing plans, including budget development and ROI projections.
- Experience managing staff and outside consultants and contracted firms.
- Familiarity with the Jewish organizational and law enforcement communities preferred.
- Strong track record as an implementer who thrives on managing a variety of key initiatives concurrently.
- Excellent writing/editing and verbal communications skills.
- Project management expertise; ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency with WordPress, HTML/CSS, Adobe Creative Suite, Salesforce, Slack, and social media platforms.
- Commitment to working collaboratively with all constituent groups, including staff, board members, volunteers, donors, program participants, and other stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
