Northrop Grumman Tactical Space Systems is seeking an experienced Senior Web Solution Engineer to support the Tactical Space Systems Division in their development and deployment of satellite ground software to end customers. The Senior Web Solution Engineer will oversee web architecture, act as a liaison to understand end-user requirements, influence the selection of core technologies, and guide the development teams. In this role, you will have the opportunity to support and significantly influence our satellite ground software solution providing command/control, mission planning, space visualization, and more to our end users. The location for this role is Dulles, VA. This position is responsible for the following: Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and technical needs Develop and implement high-level architectural designs for scalable, secure, and efficient web solutions Guide and mentor teams in the development of client and server web components to provide a highly responsive user experience as part of an existing service-oriented, message-driven architecture Guide the selection of frameworks, libraries, tools, and design patterns to improve current and future development efforts Oversee code reviews and ensure adherence to best practices and coding standards Optimize web application performance and troubleshoot issues as they arise Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in web technologies To be successful in this role you will need: Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills Familiarity with deploying and running web solutions via micro-service oriented and orchestrated architectures including technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes Familiarity with Agile software development Basic Qualifications: Senior Principal Software Engineer Bachelor's degree in STEM and a minimum of 9 years of relevant experiences, a Master's degree with 7 years of relevant experience, a PhD with 4 years of relevant experience. Experience may be considered in lieu of a degree Proven experience in leading and mentoring teams in the design, implementation, and deployment of web-based software products Proven experience with designing and implementing highly responsive web applications that support significant data streaming use cases Extensive experience in two or more server-side web technologies and familiarity with frameworks such as Express.js, Django, Phoenix, JAVA Spring, Flask Experience in two or more client-side web technologies and familiarity with frameworks such as React, Angular, Vue.js, and Svelte Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., OpenStack, AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) Experience with Single Page Application (SPA), Redux, Streaming / Websockets and/or [Global] state management Active DoD Top Secret clearance w/SCI eligibility at time of application Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Cybersecurity considerations and standards for web-based architectures Experience in software build automation, continuous integration, configuration management, verification, and deployment Experience developing satellite ground software with any of the following applications for spacecraft missions is highly preferred: Command and Control, Mission Planning, Visualization, and/or Astrodynamics Familiarity with user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) design principles Experienced with Atlassian tools (JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket) Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment The Northrop Grumman Tactical Space Division is a strategic partner specializing in commercial and classified partnerships with the design, delivery, operation and sustainment of satellites and human spacecraft. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
