We are looking for an authentic, dynamic, engaging talent who can connect with the audience on all platforms. The ideal candidate will have solid news judgment, play an active role in the daily process to identify topics for coverage, and be on top of their game when it comes to covering breaking news and weather.The ideal candidate will be a newsroom leader who is a self-starter, a good newsroom citizen, and an advocate for the target viewer. We are looking for an experienced anchor who thrives on bringing value to our local audience, drives impactful breaking news coverage, and does quality in-depth content gathering and reporting when needed.Responsibilities:
Co-anchors several newscastsAccurate reporting of news storiesConversational anchor skills with the ability to adlib with ease and to connect audiences through professionalism and personality.Handle rapidly changing live breaking news coverage.Demonstrates leadership in the newsroom, working in conjunction with your co-anchor and news managers.Ability to identify the developmental needs of others and to coach, mentor, or otherwise help others to improve their knowledge or skills.Work with producers to craft and improve newscasts.Produce/anchor digital video content in addition to linear television responsibilities.Promote good citizenship and make a positive impact on the communities we serve.Represent the station at public eventsWorks on special projects and other duties as assigned.Compensation and Benefits
Salary: $150,000-$240,000 commensurate with experience and skill level.Comprehensive benefits package including group health and dental, paid time off, 401(k), and more.Requirements/Qualifications:
Minimum 6 years of on-air experienceMinimum of 4 years of regular anchoring experienceProven track record of leadership and newscast ratings growth.Ability to work under tight deadlines.Positive, solution-oriented attitude and team player.Can perform duties and make decisions under extreme pressure.Must be able to accept constructive direction and feedback.Ability to work a flexible schedule. This position primarily involves afternoon/evening hours. Must be able to work through 11p daily and occasionally into late night/early morning hours in case of breaking news or programming changes.
