What you’ll be doing...
Verizon’s Content Strategy and Partnerships team is responsible for connecting consumers with the content and experiences they love. The team oversees partnerships, sources opportunities and negotiates with a broad range of content and programming entities, including major broadcast and cable companies, sports leagues, OTT/digital providers and studios. Content serves as a key driver in consumer decision making, and the role content plays for our current and future customers is increasingly critical.
The Content Partnerships Sr. Manager will oversee Verizon’s Fios content activities, including programming, acquisitions, development, and strategic partnerships. They will be part of a team responsible for managing all aspects of the linear programming deals and initiatives thereof with a focus on the Latino and Multicultural content portfolios (e.g., TelevisaUnivision, ViX Premium, TV One, Revolt, Willow TV, RAI Italia, and more). This role will be responsible for negotiating and securing content rights for the Verizon Consumer Group, and impact our current mobile and home connectivity businesses by optimizing our existing deal pipeline and executing a strategy around the massive consumer shift to OTT video and services. This position reports to the Sr. Director of Content Partnerships.
Responsibilities include:
Developing and maintaining relationships with Latino and Multicultural content partners, as well as other Content partners within the linear and OTT content ecosystem and the industry at large, representing the company as an industry leader.
Leading negotiations, drafting, and structuring deals with partners to secure content licensing agreements with the necessary rights to support Verizon’s current and future businesses.
Managing relationships and liaising with internal stakeholders to make decisions and effectuate partnerships.
Conducting due diligence for new network and content pitches from existing and potential partners with an eye for business priorities, consumer needs, and overall strategic fit.
Partnering cross-functionally with Legal, Finance, Product, Operations and Engineering, Acquisition and Base Marketing, and Value Prop teams to ensure the maximization of rights and licenses, implementation of partnerships, and customer/revenue growth and maintenance.
What we're looking for…You'll need to have:
Six or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through one or a combination of work and/or military experience, or specialized training.
Six or more years of experience in programming and content acquisitions from best-in-class cable provider and/or content programmer.
Experience working cross-functionally, driving risk management in a matrixed organization with a diverse set of stakeholders.
Experience in partner management, business development, and deal negotiation.
Even better if you have:
Bachelor’s, Master’s or other advanced degree – MBA preferred.
Hands-on, “roll up your sleeves” mindset, with a strong personality and ability to be a driver and change agent in an organization.
Proven leadership and excellent communication skills.
Strong people management and organization skills.
Strong self-initiative and persistence, ability to deal with a high degree of ambiguity and drive clarity in a highly matrixed organization.
Attention to details and drive for operational excellence.
Legal background.
Spanish language proficiency.

If you are hired into a California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Maryland, Nevada, New York, Rhode Island, Washington or Washington, D.C. work location, the compensation range for this position is between $122,000.00 and $248,000.00 annually based on a full-time schedule. The salary will vary depending on your location and confirmed job-related skills and experience. This is an incentive-based position with the potential to earn more. For part-time roles, your compensation will be adjusted to reflect your hours.
