Designer
is responsible for leading all design phases for interior projects, establishing the vision, leading the team, and having extensive client interaction.Job ResponsibilitiesPosition will be part of a team working in support of a client with a large campus in the Tysons/McLean areaDesign management on new, refresh, remodels, renovations, right size, relocations, rollouts, and concept test projects within the Real Estate and Property Development Department.Ability to handle small to mid-sized quick turnaround projects per year, with a typical range of 100 - 5,000 SF eachWill act as the liaison between the client and the architecture firmCoordinates project teams to ensure timely completion of documentsDevelops overall design for the projectDevelop detailed project drawings (schematic design, design development, permit, pricing and construction documents)Present and gains approval of concepts to the client kicks off new projects, manage the design process for internal activities and external vendorsEstablishes and ensures adherence to set budgetManages overall client relationship from initial assessment of client needs, through design concept presentations and final delivery of projects.Review of engineering drawings to ensure they comply with the design solutionWorks with technical staff to resolve inconsistencies in drawingsProvide furniture layouts, selections, and specifications / Provide FFE quotation coordination with dealersObtain client approval and ensure integration into the overall designProduces, reviews, and finalizes space plans for projectsExtensive knowledge of detailing and finalizing details on projectsDevelops and delivers overall design and furniture packagesInterior and exterior signage specification and brandingEnsures adherence to set budget and immediately informs PM and/or client of any potential variances to the budgetEducation, Work Experience, Background, and ScheduleGraduate of architecture, design, or business school: equivalent experience may be substituted6+ years' experience producing design projectsHybrid schedule Works at Client Campus (T/W/Th) and Remote days (M/F)Must take and pass a background check and drug screening test.Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesPreferred software - AutoCAD, Revit, Adobe Acrobat, MS Office SuiteExtensive knowledge of design principles and aestheticsExtensive knowledge of space planning methodologyExtensive knowledge of furnishings and finishesProficient with the concepts of furniture layoutExpert sketching and rendering skillsExpert interior architecture detailing skillsExtensive knowledge of CDs and proceduresExtensive knowledge of building systems, codes and ADA requirementsExtensive knowledge of contract administrationAffinity Program skills or equivalentExtensive verbal and written communication skillsExtensive presentation and graphic communication
