Senior Event Planner . This candidate will work in collaboration with Event Team Leaders on execution of the events strategic plan, leading Gordon Food Service Events through planning and execution.Responsibilities:Creates and executes all events activities. Including incentive trips and large scale meeting.
Leads planning of seminars, food and beverage and other on-site event management activities in collaboration with Events Managers.
Leads coordination of communication of vendors, events managers, and internal category teams.
Collaborates on the development and execution of the Events Strategy.
Partners with Internal communication, creative and outside vendors as needed. Additionally providing cost analysis for budgeting.
Primary contact for vendors and divisional teams during the planning and execution of events and trips.
Manages security and safety services for each event/trip as needed.
Leads internal and external support staff on site in the set-up and tear-down of events and trips.
With Manager leads event logistics.
Ensures that all Trips/Events they are assigned to uphold the highest standards of integrity and Corporate Brand image.
Leads, mentors, and trains junior level Event Producers ensuring they are the path to grow within GFS and the Events Team
Performs site inspections and provides a recommendation for locations.
Assists in the development and review of budget and expense management
Performs other duties as assigned.
Ideal candidate will have:Ability to self-manage and self-direct work, goals, schedules, and priorities to manage one's own time and the time of others in a fast-paced work environment.
Must be a team player, and have collaborative work relationships, and ability to mentor and lead junior team members.
Must have excellent written, verbal, organizational and communication skills as well as problem-solving capabilities.
Must have the ability to multi-task, prioritize and be able to work independently or within a team environment.
Must have exceptional presentation and interpersonal skills.
Must have advanced knowledge of the food service business.
Previous experience using event technology software required.
Experience with managing seven-figure budgets and delivering measurable ROI on events of all types
Strong planning and project management skills with the ability to work well under pressure
Experience:Bachelor Degree Preferred Marketing, Communications, Business Management or a related field
Five years previous event planning or communications experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
