The Technical Designer is responsible for supporting the Technical Design team in all product categories from initial TP creation, through final production hand-off, in accordance with our end-user needs, and corporate standards for quality, fit consistency & functionality. Highly organized, detailed and action orientated, with the ability to be flexible and help manage a large workload in a fast-paced environment while maintaining consistent fit standards. They help create blocks; style specific patterns & manage the pattern library.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible for assisting in the timely commercialization of apparel products, ensuring products meet company standards for construction, performance, fit, function, and aestheticsAssisting in the creation of tech packs inclusive of design sketches, technical illustrations and construction details, measurements, grade rules, and BOM review for threads and interliningsPrepare for fittings by measuring and inspecting garmentsParticipate in fit sessions on live models, recording comments and taking photos for other team members and evaluate garments on body formsEvaluate product to determine compliance of specs, balance, construction, quality, and fit intentAssist in identifying potential production and quality issues and make recommendations to ensure brand integrityReview of samples for fit, balance, measurement, grades, construction accuracy and quality to appropriate recipientsClearly and effectively communicate expectations, needs and timelines to cross-functional partners. factories and agentsAssist in accurate record keeping for ISO compliance and referenceArticulate brand standards to all parties, agents, and final manufacturersTrack and manage workflow while adhering to development and commercialization trackers, calendars, and processes to ensure on-time development and productionSupport product’s wear testing throughout development and production stagesLeverage technical knowledge and leadership support to troubleshoot and resolve issues that may require an innovative approachBenchmark our fit and quality standards against key competitors to ensure best in class fit and constructionDrive continual improvement and innovation, sponsor newnessSupport special projects and goals related to product category or department objectivesOther duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

:

Bachelor's degree in Apparel, Pattern Making, Textile Science or related degree / certificate from an accredited program1-3 years’ experience as an Assistant Designer, Assistant Technical Designer or 1st PatternmakerWorking experience in executing all levels of development process with a solid understanding of the apparel development process in a manufacturing environment

Experience in developing and managing multiple product categories simultaneouslyStrong written and verbal skills with the ability to clearly communicate technical information via Technical Specification packages, emails, phone calls and face to faceExceptional technical sketching ability with strong attention to detailAbility to accurately correct and execute 2-D pattern correctionAn understanding of / or interest to learn how to apply grade rules to measurement grade sheet and patterns.Extensive computer experience including, but not limited to Microsoft Office Suites - Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PDM/ PLM softwareProficiency in Adobe Suites - Illustrator and Photoshop, and 2D Pattern software (Optitex preferred)Knowledge of Clo-3D a plusFactory or Sample room working experience a plus

Pay Range:

$32.00- $36.00 per hour
