Job Title :Designer, Senior
Reporting To:Supervisor, Drafting Slip Ring
Work Schedule:Onsite - Blacksburg, VAResponsibilities:
Create solid models of components using CAD software and oversee all design elements required to produce a quality model and layout.Design and layout complex mechanical assemblies using CAD software.Determine the component and sub-assembly drawings required to define the design.Knowledge of all in-house design/drafting standards including geometric tolerancing.Produce all required drawings in accordance with all applicable standards.Review and interpret customer specifications or requirements and the applicable military specifications or standards.Analyze design problems and direct the writing of Engineering Change Orders (ECO).Participate and contribute in design meetings with engineers and customers.Check drawing packages and ECO incorporations.Assist in assigning inventory control numbers (ICN's).Assist in training / cross-training of others.Maintain proficient computer skills.Strong communication, organization, and time management skillsParticipate in Continuous Improvement Process.Work with minimal supervision.Ability to retain confidential information.Perform other duties as assigned.Required Qualifications:
Associate Degree in Computer Aided Drafting and Design, or equivalent combination of education and experienceMinimum of five total years' experience in the design of related electromechanical components or equivalentOur Benefits:
