Description
Our Turf & Ornamental business is seeking a Marketing Category Lead who will be responsible for developing the short and mid-term portfolio marketing strategy, branding, communications and forecasting for our Turf & Ornamental business that has aspirations to become the market share leader in this $1 Billion professional Specialty market within the next 5 years. The Category Lead will also be responsible for developing and executing launch plans for multiple product launches over the next 3-5 years, as well as, managing public relations, advertising, and social media with our Marketing Communications Manager.

* Ownership of the supply process utilizing market knowledge and mastering the forecasting tools to lead the business in accurate and timely monthly demand and forecasting.* Establish clear forecasting processes with the National Account Managers and District Sales Leaders.* Work closely with the Demand Manager to manage supply and allocations to achieve forecasted sales, on-time delivery, and customer satisfaction goals.* Engagement as a key member of our T&O cross-functional Leadership Team to ensure alignment of strategies and tactics.* Define our product vision, roadmap and create robust marketing plans incorporating market research voice of the customer, segmented value pricing, marketing programs and a multi-generation product development vision.* Responsible for optimizing product mix by developing short- and medium-term portfolio marketing strategies that will maximize portfolio sales and margin.* Understand and strategically communicate competitive market intelligence throughout the organization* Lead the Marketing and Sales team in the identification of new marketing opportunities and strategies.* Develop product direction in alignment with portfolio strategy to achieve On-the-Ground Sales goals.* Enable Sales Team success by leveraging internal processes, tactics, and tools as appropriate in alignment with business strategy.* Implement effective new product launches and product line extensions. Produce detailed plans and tactics to launch new products to achieve product ramp up goals.* Work closely with Strategic Channel Leader and account managers to ensure published distributor programs are designed to gain market share and improve standard margin.* Work with packaging and product development teams to ensure products are launched with industry leading packaging and delivery systems.* Lead and develop marketing communication plan with the Marketing Communications Manager while maximizing our P&A spend and ROI.* Engage with the T&O Concept Team and the Urban Pest Commercial Manager to help identify unmet needs and opportunities in the T&O Market and help build business cases supporting the necessary investment to create products and services to meet those needs.* Represent the overall business to the global platform and advocating for resources as appropriate
Qualifications
What expertise have you grown? What do you bring to the table?
* Bachelor's degree in Business or ag related area preferred. Master of Business Administration preferred.* 5 years plus of Agronomic, Marketing and/or Sales experience with increasing levels of responsibility, and demonstrated skills in project leadership, planning, implementation, and people leadership.* Thorough knowledge and understanding of marketing principles and the specific market supported.* Understanding of business strategy and demonstrated ability to translate strategy into business opportunities. Ability to synthesize market data and customer insight to develop innovative responses to market opportunities.* Ability to lead project teams effectively and efficiently.* Demonstrated skills in influencing, persuasion and negotiation.* Strong team player with the skills of building strong relationships.* Must work well in a team environment to ensure alignment with sales, marketing, and business and supply chain teams.* Must have the capability to engage with sales teams and customers to collect input, influence and gain support.* Must have the capability to manage cross-functional relationships.* Must be able to assert influence without direct authority and confidently make timely decisions.* Must have group facilitation and communication skills to achieve unified team efforts.* Strong team player with excellent project management skills.* Must have outstanding excel spreadsheet management skills.
