Overview
The Area Design Manager's primary duty includes the exercise of discretion and independent judgment relative to the management of the design of components manufactured by 84 Lumber, including but not limited to the interpretation and design of engineered components and panels from architectural prints to produce placement layouts and engineered truss drawings. This position provides the necessary supervision, leadership and development for the design technical staff to manage these design related tasks efficiently. The position also is required to mentor designers to improve communication skills and to supervise and direct designers' work to ensure accurate and quality designs. Responsibilities
Interpretation and design of engineered components and panels from architectural prints to produce placement layouts and engineered truss drawings. Supervise and direct designers' work to ensure accurate designs. Scheduling design work. Managing and resolving customer related design issues and other miscellaneous design issues. Developing designer's skills to enable them to advance through the design levels. Effective communication with other teams, including sales, production, customer service and management Qualifications
Database software Design software including MiTek Word processing software Spreadsheet and internet software Respond to common inquiries, and/or resolve complaints, from customers Mulit-Family design experience
