As a

Control Panels Designe r at Thermon, you will design control panels and control panel assemblies per customer specifications to successfully ensure customer satisfaction, production efficiency, and Thermon profitability.

You will identify design requirements from BOMs, descriptions, specifications, instructions, and Thermon quotations. In addition, you will prepare drawing packages, including BOMs, layouts, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and enclosure cutouts, and support Thermon Panel Shop staff in constructing the designs. As a Designer you will use design software (AutoCAD, SEE Electrical, etc.) and established guidelines and procedures to design control panels while working alongside CAD Drafters.

The Designer will be based out of the Thermon office in San Marcos, Texas.

Key Responsibilities:

Design of small to medium projects or several small projects simultaneously

Collaborate with the other designers and Project Managers, to generate drawing packages

Collaborate with customer representatives on technical issues

Create and review drawings using AutoCAD and other software

Prepare and review drawings for accuracy

Review drawings prepared by other designers

Support production staff to ensure the physical product aligns with drawings

Adhere to Thermon procedures and guides related to quality and project execution

Key Characteristics, Competencies and Skills

Strong technical writing, communication and teamwork skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Technical knowledge of electricity, electrical schematics and control logic, electrical control systems and components, and three phase power distribution with the ability to interpret instructions accurately.

Qualifications

Minimum two year's prior experience working in a manufacturing environment and a Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or similar

OR

Minimum of four years hands on experience in a similar role.

Experience with CAD software (AutoCad, See Electrical, or similar)

Experience with MS Office, ERP and Document Control systems

Working knowledge of Codes and Standards (NEC, CEC, UL 508A, etc.) preferred

Experience with Standards related to Hazardous Locations (NFPA 496, UL 121201, CSA equivalents, etc.) preferred
