We are seeking a strategic and hands-on
Director of Product Design
to lead our Product Design & UX team in creating exceptional user experiences across our product suite. In this role, you'll drive the creation of exceptional user experiences that seamlessly connect users and systems, ensuring our UX practices align with both our company's goals and the needs of our customers.
You'll manage and mentor a team of talented product designers, collaborating closely with product management and engineering to deliver intuitive, impactful features. As we expand from a texting platform to a full omnichannel communication platform, your leadership will be critical in shaping this evolution. Our goal is to build a product design team that blends front-end development expertise with strong UX and visual design skills, positioning the team for meaningful impact and seamless scalability.We thrive on teamwork and shared enthusiasm, which is why this role involves joining us in the office for two days each week.

What You'll Do
Leadership & Team Management:
Lead, mentor, and grow a team of Product designers, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment. Ensure the team is aligned with company objectives and equipped with the resources and guidance needed to excel.Strategic Vision & Execution:
Set and communicate a clear product design vision that aligns with the overall product strategy. Advocate for user-centric design principles across the organization and drive the adoption of best practices.Collaboration with Product & Engineering:
Work closely with product managers and engineering leads to ensure that product design is deeply integrated into the solution discovery process. Facilitate cross-functional collaboration to create seamless and consistent user experiences.Hybrid Product Design/ Front-End Engineering Approach:
Champion a hybrid approach to product design that incorporates front-end engineering principles. Collaborate with engineering to implement consistent, reusable components and contribute to the development of our design system.Design System & Component Library:
Oversee the evolution of our design system, ensuring it supports a scalable, maintainable, and consistent user experience across all products. Encourage the team to contribute to and refine shared components, patterns, and design tokens.Advocacy & Evangelism:
Act as a product design advocate within the company, educating stakeholders on the value of user experience and promoting user-centered design principles. Represent the product design team in executive meetings, ensuring that the user experience is prioritized in decision-making.Process Improvement:
Continuously evaluate and improve product design processes and workflows to enhance efficiency and quality. Foster a culture of experimentation and iteration, leveraging user feedback and data to refine designs.What We're Looking For
Experience:
8+ years of experience in product design, with at least 3 years in a leadership role managing teams. Experience in SaaS, Enterprise software, or related fields is preferred.Technical Skills:
Expertise in design tools like Figma, Sketch, or similar. Hands-on experience with front-end technologies (React, CSS, JavaScript) and maintaining design systems through tools like Storybook.Leadership Skills:
Proven ability to lead and mentor a team, with a track record of building and scaling product design practices within an organization.Strategic Thinking:
Ability to think strategically about product design and how it aligns with product and business goals. Experience in setting and driving product design vision at a high level.Collaboration:
Excellent collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including product management, engineering, and executive leadership.Communication:
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate design decisions and advocate for user-centric solutions.Portfolio:
