Scope of Position:
The Interior Design Planner position includes interior space planning amp; programming, suggesting and, documenting space modifications, participating on construction project teams, and directing relocations and moves. This work connects to and advances OSUWMC Branding initiatives and Wayfinding frameworks. Effective procurement strategy is created and implemented by the planners. They create and apply standards for furniture and interior space. Solutions are produced in response to customers furniture, move, and renovation requests. The Interior Design Planner coordinates furniture estimates and obtains the needed vendor input. The Interior Design Planner must be proficient in communication and leadership skills, customer service, coordination of multiple projects, computer aided design (CAD) technology, and regulatory compliance.Position Summary:
The Interior Design Planner participates in all aspects of OSUWMC interior facility planning, including design implementation, site visits, and installation. Activities involving planners include programming, budgeting, conceptual design and furniture layouts, procurement, application of branding standards, project management, vendor coordination, signage integration, moves, furniture repair and warranty. The degree of involvement on any specific project varies, within larger project teams of Senior Planners, Construction Managers, and others.The Interior Design Planner is responsible for the development of project scopes related to interior space. This includes the integration of interior furniture and branding components compliant with OSUWMC standards for such elements. Planners collaborate with vendors and associate architects. They monitor project budgets and timelines for their applicable portions of the work. They review design documents and specifications, regulatory requirements, procurement timelines and critical path project schedules. They provide relocation coordination. Planners help to identify and prioritize alternates. Coordination and timely documentation of these and other relevant activities is expected.
Required Qualifications:This position will be assigned to the new Tower Project full time through 2025
Bachelor degree in Interior Space Planning, Interior Design, Architecture, Const. Design or similar field.
2 years relevant experience (space planning, design, etc).
Proficiency with Computer Aided Design software (AutoCAD, Revit) as well as Microsoft Word, Excel, Adobe, Autodesk Visualization tools and software, and Adobe Creative Suite software, are required.
Experience with PowerPoint, Photoshop, and Microsoft Project desired.
Excellent communication skills both verbal and written required.
Demonstrated knowledge of regulatory codes applicable to clinical, office, and research environments is highly desirable.
Experiences should show a proficiency in managing multiple tasks, sensitivity to the costs of facility operations, and an overall creativity.
Experience in a multidisciplinary academic medical center, a research environment, or a complex organizational environment is desirable.
A track record of working in 24 / 7 clinical environments is desirable.
Professional certification/registration is a plus yet not required.
