Akima Infrastructure Services, LLC (AIS), is seeking a Tier II Audio Visual Support Technician proficient at installing, operating, and maintaining audio-visual systems. This person will bring with them industry experience operating and troubleshooting user Laptop systems (Windows and Mac), as well as iOS and Android devices. Comprehensive experience with reading technical documentation and disseminating information by creating documentation. This individual can stay calm when presented with clients who are under pressure and confidently support varying audio-visual requests and any computer issues that come along with it. Determination is required to ensure each problem or incident has been resolved. Someone who can be onsite to troubleshoot and interface directly with customers. This role communicates information of a technical nature in simple terms, assisting end users in successful operation of AV equipment in conference rooms. Experience will demonstrate capability to assist in diagnostics and management of audio, visual, teleconference systems, and web conferencing solutions. ResponsibilitiesRespond to requests for Tier II AV Support using NREL ticket tracking systemFacilitate collaboration by supporting NREL end users in successfully using conference room technologyAssist end users with operating Windows and Mac systems in combination with installed AV SystemsDiagnostic troubleshooting of AV equipment, desktop computers, cabling, USB peripherals, AV Control Processors, Audio-Digital Signal processors Projectors, Interactive Whiteboards, Large Displays, Teleconferencing and Hybrid SystemsAV system checkups, replacing broken cables, preemptive problem solving before problem escalationRemove, Install, re-wire and modify AV system hardware and software components, as required, and as permitted by NRELAssist with installing, modifying, commissioning, and / or de-installing AV systemsEnsure that rooms are kept neat and free of safety hazards; and manage "cable sprawl" to maintain cleanliness and safety of meeting roomsQualifications

Excellent customer service skillsExperience supporting clients with a diverse range of technical knowledgeExperience with Windows and Mac systems, iOS and Android mobile devicesExperience installing and / or servicing Video Teleconference equipmentExperience commissioning AV equipmentComfortable understanding of electronics signal flow and audiovisual system complexitiesExperience supporting MS Teams, Cisco WebEx, Zoom and/or other virtual meeting applicationsExcellent multi-tasking skills and motivation; prioritize and perform concurrent tasksDesired Qualifications:

Working hands on knowledge and experience with PC and Mac technologiesCertified Technology Specialist (CTS) certifications preferredMinimum three (3) years' experience working with audiovisual systems; installation, service, maintenance of audiovisual systems; live event production, broadcast radio, or similar technologyStrong computer troubleshooting skills including Windows, Mac, Android and iOS platformsExperience installing and maintaining audiovisual control systemsManufacturer training certifications for audiovisual systems, audio DSPs, and related sub-system components (QSC-QSYS, Crestron, Commend or similar)Demonstrated experience interpreting and/or creating CAD based system drawingsCurrent familiarity with commercial audiovisual, videoconferencing, and broadcast manufacturersExperience servicing and maintaining public address and distributed audio systemsFunctional understanding of IP and ISDN network connectivityA/V cabling standards; HDMI, distribution/conversion equipment and structured cabling installation methodology (CAT6)Familiarity with ServiceNow IT service management systemAdditional Requirements:

Pre-employment Drug Screen - External applicants selected for this position are required to successfully complete a post-offer, pre-employment drug test.Medical Exam(s) - Job related pre-placement medical examinations may be required for this position.This position may require the ability to obtain and maintain a clearance from the Department of Energy. If determined as such, this position would be identified as a Workplace Substance Abuse Program (WSAP) testing designated position. WSAP positions require participation in an ongoing random drug testing program in addition to the pre-employment drug screen.The selected candidate will be required to work on-site 40 hours per week between the hours of 8 AM - 5 PM Mountain Time, Monday-Friday unless otherwise directed by NREL. Actual time may vary depending on workload requirements.Job duration is projected to be a 12-month period of performance with potential for a 12-month extension.Pay and Benefits:

Salary Range: $42.00 to $50.00 per hour - The salary offered to the successful candidate will be determined based on the candidate's qualifications, work experience, and their ability to meet the known requirements of the position as determined at the time of hire.
