In collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders across the Inflammation Therapeutic Area and aligned with product strategy, the Senior Manager Scientific Communications is accountable for a broad scope of responsibilities, including: Scientific communications strategy and development/oversight of high-quality strategic plans Delivery of innovative scientific and medical content, including, but not limited to: disease state education, digital materials, Field Medical resources, FAQ documents, and/or Medical Information Letters, tailored to specific audiences in the US and globally via impactful formats and relevant channels Publication deliverables (planning/manuscripts/abstracts/congress posters and presentations/enhanced content) Addressing Medical Information inquiries/escalations Creation of payer-related content, timely support for compendia Support educational events and scientific congresses (booth content/symposia) Maintain strong partnerships with Medical Strategy & Operations in support of standardization of processes, optimizing systems, and furthering continuous improvement and innovation, including use of digital and multi-channel approaches, as well as definition of impactful of KPIs. Drive the development of a comprehensive scientific communication plan that shifts based on changes in the disease area and treatment landscape and in-depth awareness of insights across local affiliates and cross-functional partners Provide support at key scientific congresses and meetings Mentor and/or manage internal staff and/or vendors Contribute to management of product budget What we expect of you We are all different, yet we all use our unique contributions to serve patients. The professional we seek has these attributes: Basic Qualifications: Doctorate degree & 2 years of Medical/Scientific Affairs experience OR Masters degree & 6 years of Medical/Scientific Affairs experience OR Bachelors degree & 8 years of Medical/Scientific Affairs experience Preferred Qualifications: MD, PharmD, PhD, or DO with 4 or more years of expertise in clinical research, patient care, Clinical Development, Medical/Scientific Affairs, and/or basic research (other doctorate degrees may be considered) Prior experience in Medical/Scientific Affairs or Clinical Development within the biopharmaceutical industry, and/or clinical or research in the therapeutic area An understanding of the pharmaceutical commercialization process and knowledge of the regulatory and legal guidelines affecting promotion of prescription products Strong communication skills and comfort communicating with cross-functional colleagues and external stakeholders Demonstrated record of performing strategically and tactically in a highly matrixed environment working with cross-functional, dynamic teams Experience in strategic publication and communication planning and development of peer-reviewed publications and other medical content Familiarity with publications guidelines and transparency standards (e.g., ICMJE, current Good Publication Practice (GPP) Guidelines) Understanding of disease area and landscape and clinical data to enable critical analysis of scientific literature Prior experience with oversight and management of consultants and vendors Strong computer and database skills, particularly with Microsoft Office products What you can expect of us As we work to develop treatments that take care of others, we also work to care for your professional and personal growth and well-being. The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
