A well- known fashion brand looking for an Associate Technical Designer that Specializes in Mens and Womens Knits & Wovens for a Freelance role.Role:Associate Technical Designer- Knit/Wovens (Mens/Womens)Rate:$33/hrLocation:Position Location: Fully Onsite in The Arts DistrictMonday - Friday-Fully OnsiteStart/End:Potential Zoom & On-Site interview- Fitting3 - 6 Months Freelance onlyJob Description: (Subject to change).This role will report directly to our Director of Product Development & Production. You must be based in the greater Los Angeles area to be considered for this position. This is a temporary position for a period of 3 months.ResponsibilitiesProduct measurement specification: Support Director and attend all pre-fit/design hand-offs to help identify reference silhouette and/or fit block for each modelSupport Design team in initial build of Technical Packages Create POMs, construction and hand off comments for all programs and coordinate with PD for release with relevant direction, samples and reference garmentsReview and analyze blocks/core fits for consistencyFit approvals: Ensure all fit garments and evaluation sheets have been received from factories and measure /evaluate prior to fitting from initial Development through Production.Schedule and lead live fittings Support management of fit approval process/comments in accordance with Protos, Samples, Bulk Fit/PPS, and TOP deadlinesMaintain consistent and accurate fit comments, grade rules, and tolerances and supply POM sketches and detail grading as appropriate for category at stock approvalCreate diagrams/sketches and pattern corrections as needed to support revisions visuallySystems: Specification details - create + edit measurement pages and all related pages alongside the other product functionsMaintain information on Excel/Chart System and share drive with all updates, graded specifications, fit photos, fit notes, technical diagrams, and written commentsMaintain digital and physical style reference libraries by categoryQualificationsAbout you Minimum of 5 years' experience in technical design function participating in live model fittings Knits, wovens, and outerwear categories preferredDraping, pattern making, garment specification and construction experience preferredHigh level of computer proficiency: requirement in Microsoft + Google Suite Adobe proficiency (Illustrator + Photoshop) preferredCharacteristics Strong organizational and multitasking skills with a high attention to detailDemonstrates initiative, time management skills and flexibilityExcellent communication and follow up skills with ability to work across cultures and collaborateCan thrive in a high volume, high traffic start-up environmentIf
