Job Overview:
WMC is looking for an experienced data-driven strategist, storyteller, and marketing insights specialist to partner with Sales to improve growth and excellence across Food and Beverage accounts.
As a strategist, you will oversee mining & summarizing category level data to develop omnichannel insights that inform the media & marketing strategies you will recommend to Walmart Connect's brand partners.
You will be an expert resource on uncovering new opportunities and developing strategies around the Walmart shopper, category, fulfillment channel and media channel and create strategic recommendations for your assigned departments and categories.
This position sits under WMC Marketing and reports to the Senior Manager of Category Strategy for Food and Beverages.
There is a strong emphasis in this role to build narratives using data and insights (please highlight examples of this in your resume).
Ideal Candidate Profile:
We're looking for individuals with experience in addressing problems in a holistic and creative manner, promoting connectivity, boasting experience in the industry and category. Experienced in creating strategies motivated by insights, and can transform these strategies into compelling business proposals. You have outstanding storytelling skills and be at ease creating category development opportunities to generate sales.
Primary Responsibilities:
Become WMC's chief strategist, using 1st and 3rd party data to uncover insights and opportunities for category growth. Develop data-driven retail media strategies to spur growth for Walmart and suppliers.
Be a trusted partner for the WMC sales team, identifying new growth opportunities, crafting tailored marketing collateral, and contributing to sales pitches.
Transform supplier relationships into co-creating partnerships, while integrating the role into a strategic thought-leadership position. Collaborate with Client Solutions Integrated Planners on seasonal omnichannel packages.
Enhance the "One Walmart" approach by leading partnerships with enterprise and WMC partners, aligning recommendations for suppliers with Walmart's strategies. Balance analytical rigor with powerful storytelling in all outputs and communications.
Have a combination of analytical and creative-strategic skills. Exhibit a spirit of partnership, and collaboration.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or related field and 1 year's experience in marketing or related field OR 5 years' experience in marketing or related field.
1-3 years of experience working in brand or performance marketing, strategic planning, commercial strategy, shopper insights, retail or digital advertising or media.
Relevant agency, media or brand-side cross-category experience.
Excellent story-telling skills with the ability to present to different audiences
Be curious by data and articulate in connecting insights to strategies that demonstrate creativity-that have a compelling story arc and narrative.
3 or more years of experience of Retail/e-commerce experience
Experience in consumer research methodologies (Path to Purchase, Omni channel Connected Shopper Journeys, surveys, etc.), and with syndicated data providers (Nielsen, IRI, Mintel, MRI, NPD, Tableau, Adobe analytics, Kantar, etc.).

The annual salary range for this position is $96,000.00-$186,000.00
Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
