a six-day daily newspaper and the weekly Lake Placid News are seeking an experienced Publisher/Editor to lead our award-winning newspapers.
Our goal is to produce high quality and impactful community journalism and work with our community partners. This person will lead all aspects of a newspaper operation including editorial, advertising, complete printing facility and general financial operations.
Candidates must have at least three years of relevant experience in news reporting at a community newspaper and newspaper operations.
- either an editor looking for a new challenge or newspaper operation executive. We need a person who is curious, community minded, a strong storyteller, detail-oriented, organized and is involved in the communities our newspapers serve. Benefits include health and dental insurance, 401k, vacation and sick time. Wages ranging from $55,000/year to $75,000/year depending on experience.
This is a unique opportunity to cover an Olympic town inside the largest publicly protected area in the contiguous United States - the 6-million-acre Adirondack Park.
The daily covers the Tri-Lakes Region: villages of Saranac Lake, Lake Placid and Tupper Lake; surrounding hamlets; Essex and Franklin counties; outdoor recreation; local government; schools; environmental issues; and more.
