Manager – Sector Technology, Telecommunications
The opportunity
Telecommunications Technology Consulting is a rapidly growing area, so you will have plenty of opportunity to spread your wings and develop your skill set to keep up with the ever-growing demands of the telecommunications landscape. Most of your time will be spent embedded with our telecommunications client teams, and we will look to you to provide our clients with a unique sector business & technology perspective on how they must continue to innovate and remain competitive in this ever-changing industry.
Your key responsibilities
You will focus on delivery across customer/agent experience, service & product, networks, BSS & OSS systems. You will team with various EY Technology Competency groups (AI & Data, Digital Engineering, Technology Strategy & Transformation) to pursue and deliver engagements that will bring our telecommunications clients unique solutions to solve their complex issues & challenges.
Skills and attributes for success
Leading / working in project teams through agreed-upon phases of project governance, requirements definition, architecture design, vendor selection, systems integration, bespoke development, testing & QA, release management and risk analysis of a client’s project life cycle
Collaborating with team members in developing applicable methodologies, tools, approaches, points of view, thought leadership and accelerators to differentiate EY in the telecommunications industry marketplace
Providing broad technical knowledge of various telecommunications centric key technology and business platforms; teaming with client technology professionals and EY third-party strategic alliances
Developing long-term relationships and networks, both internally and externally; interacting and communicating effectively with teammates, clients, stakeholders and executives
To qualify for the role, you must have
Bachelor’s degree and eight or more years of related work experience, with at least three years in a management / technology consulting company
Three to five years of experience in at least three of the following areas, with a focus on solution definition, solution architecture, systems integration: CRM/ERP software solutions, omni-channel ordering and provisioning, e-commerce, content management or billing, network observability / operations, customer operations, network planning & design, application/leverage of AI/ML across product/engineering/operations – and across fixed & wireless networks
Three or more years in defining/designing complex systems, information and integration architectures within the telecommunications industry domain
Familiarity with AI/ML, big data and analytics; asset lifecycle management/supply chain; cloud technology delivery; web development; emerging collaborative solutions, including content management; and enterprise data migration, MVNOs, private networks, fixed networks – fiber, cable/DOCSIS
Hands-on experience in technology platforms relevant to your domain preferred
Strong interest in further developing and integrating enterprise business processes with technology skills
Strong verbal communication, presentation, client service and technical writing skills
Experience presenting to client executives at VP and SVP level
Knowledge of architecture design leading practices, benchmarking, peer company environments, and prior advisory experience relevant to telecommunications industry-specific business and technology functions
Ideally, you will also have
Degree emphasis in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, MIS or Mathematics desired; MBA or master’s degree in one of these areas preferred
Technology certifications (e.g. Azure Cloud, SAFe, TM Forum, AI/GenAI) and exposure to / understanding of relevant telecommunications industry standards such as TM Forum, CAMARA, etc.

What we offer
We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $141,200 to $258,900. The salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $169,500 to $294,300. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options. Join us in our team-led and leader-enabled hybrid model. Our expectation is for most people in external, client serving roles to work together in person 40-60% of the time over the course of an engagement, project or year. Under our flexible vacation policy, you’ll decide how much vacation time you need based on your own personal circumstances. You’ll also be granted time off for designated EY Paid Holidays, Winter/Summer breaks, Personal/Family Care, and other leaves of absence when needed to support your physical, financial, and emotional well-being.
