Summary About the Position: This position is a DOD Cyber Excepted Service (CES) personnel system position in the Excepted Service under 10 USC 1599f. Employees occupying CES positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located in the Plan Project Integration Management Office at Fort Meade, Maryland. Responsibilities Serve as a Satellite Communications (SATCOM) subject matter expert and project manager/staff action officer regarding command and control and telecommunications systems for 7th Signal Command Theater. Provide monitoring for incident resolution (end-to-end), and problem management of complex Satellite Communications operations. Manage and coordinate the overall implementation of Satellite Communications systems, capabilities, or infrastructure that support transport between the tactical user and strategic services. Research and apply knowledge of current authorities and policy towards the development of new policy in accordance with DOD and Army directives, regulations, and operational and technical manuals. Review, validate, and coordinate planning for programs. Assist in staff development of future initiatives. To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe one year specialized experience that demonstrates the possession of knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Such experience is typically in or directly related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience would be demonstrated by performing analysis of local and long haul telecommunications networks and systems; identifying and maintaining various telecommunications equipment and evaluating system performance; and initiating corrective actions to prevent or resolve communication outages.
