The Position
Organon's US Commercial Team is seeking a Director of Sales and Marketing Operations. The role will lead two important and interconnected commercial enablement functions that contribute to successful business performance across the Organon Business Units. At Organon, we are a lean and agile organization, strategically viewing these two functions as closely linked. The Director in this role will allocate their time across these functional areas appropriately, enabling operations as a central coordinated capability in the Organon US Commercial organization.
The role will require the ability to work closely across multiple cross-functional stakeholders with the ability to manage multiple competing priorities, keeping a broad view of the US Commercial Organization, our portfolio, and related business priorities in consideration. A successful candidate will demonstrate a strong desire to drive progress, think creatively, collaborate efficiently, lead continuous improvement, and be accountable for successful operational performance.
The Director, Sales and Marketing Operations will report to the Executive Director and Head, US Commercial Strategy and Operations. The Sales and Marketing Operations teams will report directly into the Director, Sales and Marketing Operations.
ResponsibilitiesSales OperationsThis functional area includes collaboratively setting strategic direction and managing the achievement of strategic objectives for sales planning processes and tools. Key responsibilities include:Sales Planning Process: Oversee the end-to-end sales planning process inclusive of org design, alignments, objective setting, sales incentives and administration, including management of outsourced providerCustomer Resource Management operations: Managing the US Commercial organization CRM capabilities (Veeva) in service of Business Unit objectivesSampling/Voucher Operations: Oversee all commercial/compliance aspects of sampling and voucher Operations, vendor and budget management.Marketing Operations:This functional area includes collaboratively setting strategic direction and managing the achievement of strategic objectives for promotional review processes, governance, promotional/HCP Training fulfillment. Key responsibilities include:Promotional Review Processes: Manage promotional review processes, workflows, operations support, and best practices to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness while maintaining compliance requirements.Promotional Fulfillment: Oversee the promotional fulfillment systems, vendor, processes, and operations in support of business unit promotional and HCP training program materials lifecycle, ensuring alignment with compliance and business needs.Function Management: Manage the marketing operations budget, including forecasting, tracking expenditures, and ensuring cost-effective use of resources. Agency and job owner relationship management, including overseeing relationship and model of low complexity agency, onboarding of new agency partners and new job owners to Organon promotional processes.Build, mentor, and manage high-performing marketing and sales operations teams, responsible for executing and delivering these responsibilities.Identify and act on opportunities for continuous improvement across all process areas.Required Education,
Experience and Skills
Bachelor's degree required.At least 10-15 years of experience in biotech, pharmaceuticals, and/or medical device industry.At least 5 years of experience in leading a team.Significant familiarity with pharmaceutical and/or medtech Marketing and Marketing Operations processes and tools and vendor management, including Promotional/HCP Training Fulfillment processes, Promotional Review processes, agency management, and Veeva PromoMats.Significant familiarity with pharmaceutical and/or medtech Sales and Sales Operations processes and tools, including sales force planning sales incentive programs, Veeva CRM, product sampling/voucher operations, and related vendor management.Experience in a position that requires cross-functional coordination of multiple stakeholders, complex process management and the ability to influence decisions.Demonstrated ability to manage conflicting business priorities and translate to executional process.Understanding of the sales force planning process.Experience in data management.Experience vendor and partner management, including large, outsourced providers.Operating as an Expert Partner
