Job Summary

The manager of athletics marketing is responsible for developing, implementing and coordinating marketing efforts, with an emphasis on branding and promotion, across the division. This position will also lead efforts to enhance the customer experience at athletic events by growing attendance and engaging students and the Lindenwood community.

Job Responsibilities and Execution

Creates, designs, expands and updates the website and social media content to improve engagement and visibilityAssists in the development and implementation of programs, policies and objectives related to marketing, fulfillment of in-game sponsorship agreements and fan engagementProvides oversight of promotional and brand-enhancement efforts for game day operations related to customer experienceIdentifies opportunities and coordinates promotions for local and regional groups to participate in game day activities associated with athletic events and collaborates with athletics resource development department to enhance season, single and group ticket salesCultivates and strengthens relationships with university student organizations and the Office of Student Life and Diversity to grow and maximize student attendance and engagement at eventsActs as the departmental liaison with the department of alumni relations, alumni and external constituentsAssists external operations staff with design, print and production of materials for sales pitches and community engagement initiativesAssists with the fulfillment of corporate sponsorship contracts related to signage, in-game promotions, videoboard and print materialsManages all marketing programs for the Athletic department, including special event marketing to help drive attendance for home athletic contestsService Excellence

Supports the mission of the University and serves as an ambassador of the Q2 culture of service excellenceModels, supports, and holds others accountable to the University's valuesCollaborates with other departments across campus to help market eventsProvides leadership in community outreach efforts to promote marketing athletic programs and department in the communityMonitors and responds to the fan community with regards to requests for posters, schedule cards, autographs and other promotional events and materialsCommunication, Teamwork and Collaboration

Works with coaches, staff and administration to plan and implement marketing plans for individual athletic programsWorks with game operations staff to execute marketing plans on game daysWrites scripts and organizes in-game timing and execution of promotions, video board features, public address reads and other sponsorship initiativesAssists the manager of athletics resource development with group night ticket sales, ticket discounts and theme night promotions to increase attendance and drive revenueCollaborates with on-campus student organizations, campus leaders and community members to execute successful sports-related eventsJob may require other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

- An equivalent combination of education, training and experience will be considered. Additional requirements may be designated by position.

Master's degree in related fieldMinimum 2 years' experience in collegiate athletics marketing and administration, which can include experience as a graduate assistant or internExperience managing a marketing staff in an intercollegiate athletics setting preferredKnowledge, Skills and Abilities
