The Fayette County Housing Authority is seeking an energetic, dedicated, cooperative, and motivated Housing Inspector to join their team of professionals. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As the Housing Inspector, you will be Inspecting Public Housing and Section 8 Housing units to ensure compliance with the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD)and the Fayette County Housing Authority standards. Additional duties will include performing outreach functions for new owners, assisting staff in negotiating contract rent, and maintaining knowledge of local codes and HUD housing regulations. You will have the opportunity to confer with Authority management, tenants, landlords, and local inspector to complete the inspection process and to make recommendations for proper maintenance and repairs.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

* Full-time employment.* Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.* Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.* You will receive further communication regarding this position via email. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

* One year of experience in the area of building structure or maintenance inspection; or* One year of building or trades experience which included work in the area of cost estimation; or* Any equivalent combination of experience and training which afforded the applicant the above required knowledges, skills, and abilities.
