As part of Northwell's Digital Innovation & Transformation team, the Design Advisor brings world-class human-centered design methodologies to illuminate needs across a range of healthcare contexts and stakeholders, conceptualize next-generation products and services, and engage with cross-functional teams to develop new capabilities to bring desirable and differentiated experiences to life. A Design Advisor possesses a strong level of craft to visualize ideal future states, the acumen to build clear and compelling strategic narratives, and the ability to drive organizational change by deftly engaging with internal and external partners.
Job Description
Provides strategic advice and guidance on human-centered design methodologies and experiences for problem-solving and translates human needs into the next generation of tangible experiences, solutions, and products. Collaborates with leaders, customers, and stakeholders to combine design, subject matter expertise, and business strategy to create compelling and engaging visions and narratives for the future. Drives business growth and excellence as an individual contributor, project leader or working within project teams. Contributes to the development and delivery of groundbreaking experiences, solutions, services, and products.
Job Responsibility
1.Provides strategic advice and guidance to the innovation and transformation function with deep and actionable concepts that uncover and solve the right problems and enable the next generation of experiences using human-centered design methodologies.
2.Collaborates with cross-functional teams to develop and deliver business strategy and bring groundbreaking experiences, services, and products to life. Builds and maintains productive inter/intra-departmental relationships to optimize systemic operations; understand target users' needs, motivations, and behaviors in healthcare.
3.Synthesizes, prioritizes, and translates insights from research, including but not limited to immersive observations, contextual inquiries, quantitative analysis, and ideation workshops.
4.Develops guiding principles and directives for design. Creates journey maps, behavioral archetypes, wireframes, etc.
5.Understands business goals, needs, constraints and market opportunities to inform design and provide recommendations to senior leadership.

Job Qualification
Bachelor's Degree required, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
10+ years of relevant experience and 2+ years of leadership / management experience, required.
Preferred requirements
Design-related Master's degree desirable.
Relevant experience in human-centered design required, with health system experience desired.
Strong visual design and UI/UX design skills, including competency with Figma.
Portfolio required. Submit PDF or website with application.

The salary range and/or hourly rate listed is a good faith determination of potential base compensation that may be offered to a successful applicant for this position at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future.When determining a team member's base salary and/or rate, several factors may be considered as applicable (e.g., location, specialty, service line, years of relevant experience, education, credentials, negotiated contracts, budget and internal equity).
The salary range for this position is $112,800-$197,200/year
