Hiring Department Executive Communication & Marketing Job Description Digital Service, a department of MU Marketing & Communications, seeks a WEB DEVELOPER II who demonstrates strategic and creative thinking and problem solving in building, maintaining, modifying, and planning customer-facing websites. You will be responsible for working within a team of Web Developers, UI/UX designers and backend content management and hosting programmers to develop, maintain and support websites that support the marketing and communications goals of the University of Missouri. The successful candidate has experience with WordPress, has good website development and design skills, and is eager to support websites that meet the needs of the audiences utilizing University of Missouri websites. Digital Service provides and supports the website technology and supporting systems for all colleges and schools on the Columbia, MO campus, the University of Missouri System websites and many core business unit websites. We work with faculty, staff and students across Mizzou, vendors, and affiliated groups to meet their digital communications needs. Key Responsibilities Write efficient code. Work with preferred university content management systems (WordPress). Work closely with designers and programmers to produce websites. Research web technologies and maintain documentation. Adhere to university standards. Maintain and expand or enhance websites in production. Troubleshoot problems to provide a high level of customer satisfaction. Shift 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Central Time Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Computing or a related degree with equivalent experience. Knowledge and experience using university-preferred content management systems to create and maintain websites.
