As a Director, Social Media, you’ll own strategic direction for the Always On brand channels for an exciting new client - a creative technology giant with a 3+ year relationship ahead of us.
You will help shape the future of social media advertising for one of the world's most iconic and forward-thinking tech brands with revolutionary software solutions that empower creativity and productivity across the globe.
This role will be part of a senior cross-functional team dedicated to this client. As part of this relationship you will walk the halls and collaborate with senior clients and internal teams three days a week from their office in downtown San Francisco.
// RESPONSIBILITIES //
Cross-functional Team Leadership.
- Collaborating with, guiding, mentoring and supercharging a multidisciplinary group of Movers+Shakers including culture strategists, social strategists, social media managers, community managers, creatives, influencer managers, video editors, data strategists and producers; all in various stages of their careers.
- Pushing the team to proactively bring bold and creative ideas to the table.
Content Elevation.
- Being the first to understand, evangelize and implement best practices, formats, hacks, innovations and opportunities in social content.
- Leveraging data, analytics, social listening and intuition to drive innovation and continuous strategic and creative improvement on specific social accounts and between accounts.
- Guiding tone, voice and copywriting skills to align with Gen Z and millennial demographics, platform behaviors and brand objectives.
- Leveraging your intuitive sense for what makes great social content, and what could take in-progress work to the next level.
Knowledge and Inspiration Sharing
- Being a social media evangelist - deeply immersed in culture, constantly sharing and acting on new resources, hacks, updates, and intel.
- Regularly analyzing best-in-class brands and opportunities to inspire new ideas and executions.
- Ability to analyze and understand audience traits and behaviors on social media, both globally and locally
Workflow Streamlining.
- Supervising and steering the month-to-month and day-to-day flow of social content - from trend monitoring, insight generation, creative ideation, content production, posting and reporting and back again.
- Creating, deploying and optimizing new ways-of-working to create social content that may be responsive, evergreen, campaign integrated, trend driven or a mix of all!
- Researching and implementing new tools to increase effectiveness or efficiency.
- Liaising closely with our Heads of Creative, Production and Business Partnership to uncover and implement best practices and maintain client relationships
- Work cross functionally with other agency partners to ensure seamless execution
Crushing the Comments.
- Working with our Jr Strategists and community managers to identify opportunities for best-in-class platform-breaking “viral” comments and community interaction that achieves client objectives..
- Help our brands quickly pivot during moments of crisis or PR challenges with strong POVs and recommendations driven by consumer sentiment
// QUALIFICATIONS //
- 8-12+ years of relevant experience
- Professionally experienced, and highly passionate about creative marketing on social media (priority platforms are Instagram, TikTok, YouTube and X)
- Be onsite at client’s office in San Francisco for approximately 3 days per week
- Extremely familiar with the social media landscape and products (organic and paid) and how they can be leveraged for key marketing objectives.
- Proven ability to proactively identify opportunities or threats and propose and implement solutions to navigate them.
- A broad understanding of digital marketing and how social media contributes to brand/business growth.
- Preferred but not critical experience in the tech industry, with a track record of understanding different product suites and product marketing functions on a global scale
- Proven ability to facilitate cross-functional collaboration across account, media, production, analytics, client teams and beyond.
- Extensive experience in social-first creative agencies, leading organic & paid social, and social-first campaigns. We also highly value in-house experience at tech socially-savvy consumer brands.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and understand audience traits and behaviors on social media, both globally and locally with proven success in creating and executing strategy.
- Demonstrated experience handling multiple clients, projects and workstreams across different territories and proven experience working with or for complex organizational structures
- An obsession and enthusiasm with emerging social platforms and spaces

- Proven ability to thrive in an often unstructured, fast-paced environment.

BASE SALARY RANGE
Our estimated range for this role is $150,000-180,000*
*Don’t let this range drive your decision to apply. Actual compensation packages are based on the level of skill and experience each candidate brings to their role, with the possibility to flex up. Similarly, there might also be a more senior or junior position available, that would be a better fit with your expertise. For example, a person may apply for a Senior Creative Producer role, and we may assess that their skills are at the Creative Producer level. Each level has its own compensation range.
