GLBT Historical Society
The GLBT Historical Society (www.glbthistory.org) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that collects, preserves, exhibits, and makes accessible to the public materials and knowledge to support and promote understanding of LGBTQ history, culture, and arts in all their diversity. Founded in 1985, we are recognized internationally as a leader in the field of LGBTQ public history. In September 2024, the City of San Francisco announced its purchase of a permanent site for the GLBT History Museum.
The Director of Development and Communications will be responsible for:
- Leading fundraising efforts, with a focus on hands-on frontline fundraising, particularly with San Francisco and LGBT funders.
- Supporting the establishment of a new Museum location on Market Street, recently purchased by the City of SF.
- Reporting to Executive Director, Roberto Ordenana.
- Overseeing a team of 2.
- Working in a hybrid model and being present in San Francisco as needed.
