Salary: $60,000 - $80,000 depending on experience

We are seeking a Consumer and Money Reporter to join the Money news team. Suitable candidates will currently be working as reporters on national or well-established local newspapers or websites with an impressive track record of finding and breaking exclusive stories of national and global interest in the area of consumer affairs, personal finance and business. We are looking for someone with a keen interest in consumer affairs and a strong desire to help everyday Americans navigate the ups and downs of our current economy. The right candidate will have a battle-tested expertise in online journalism while still maintaining an enthusiasm to learn and grow as a journalist. The Dailymail.com Money team offers a challenging but supportive environment for the right individual to elevate their skills and advance their career.

We are looking for candidates with experience in the following areas: Ability to produce breaking news stories with speed and accuracy A solid contacts book full of reps from a range of companies, such as retailers, banks, and restaurants A broad knowledge of how US companies work and how they affect the everyday lives of Americans (essential) Competent ability at sifting through raw data, for example house prices or company reports, to produce engaging stories Ability to work self-sufficiently, generate own stories and contribute newsworthy stories to the daily Money news list Ability to turn business jargon into vibrant, easy to understand copy The role is largely news-led, but an ability to write moving real-life features when required is important We are looking for professionals with the following:

Passion for the DailyMail.com brand, its editorial voice and global audience At least five or more years of experience in journalism - digital news preferred Ability to work under tight deadline pressure Excellent written and verbal communication skills Applicable knowledge of multiplatform news gathering tools and resources Must have a passion for research and finding the most interesting information Strong communication skills to work collaboratively with team members
