Senior Associate (SA)

to join our

Media team

as a multicultural media specialist Health equity is at the center of all we do, and deeply integrated into our media practice is the ability to effectively reach and resonate with diverse audiences, including but not limited to Black, Hispanic/Latino, AAPI, and LGBTQIA+ communities.

As a Sr. Associate (SA) on our media team you will work closely with the VP of Media to drive strategy and implement media plans for our Public Affairs, Pharmaceutical and Biotech health clients. You'll play a critical role in crafting integrated programs; imbue your expertise earning culturally resonate coverage; lead and inspire junior staffers; and, most importantly, work with very talented, collaborative and passionate teams.

For this role, we're looking for a natural leader and exceptional practitioner. You're passionate about the power of communications to improve people's lives. You possess an understanding of the full spectrum of media relations - from the importance of media strategies; to pitching and landing positive, impactful coverage; to helping spokespeople deliver messages with impact.

The SA is responsible for driving creation of daily account deliverables,and managing and mentoring junior members. This means working collaboratively with teams to produce and present best-in-class work for a range of materials including media strategies, media pitches and lists, interview backgrounders, talking points, and key messages and presentations, among others. You can think creatively about how to land stories with impact, counsel clients on the value of more inclusive media strategies and deliver results. The SA also will engage in agency-wide initiatives, including agency marketing and new business activities.

Requirements:Minimum 5-6 years' dedicated media relations experience with specific focus on multicultural media; experience with Public Affairs, Pharma

and

Biotech clients preferredDeep experience and knowledge successfully activating against thoughtfully crafted multicultural media strategies, with proven ability to land coverage in outlets specifically tailored to elevating underrepresented voices and experiencesAn understanding of and passion for multicultural nuances, consumer behaviors and trends, along with the ability to counsel clients on how to engage authenticallyStrong media contacts among reporters and outlets that reach diverse audiences, with prior health media experience preferredAn energetic, dynamic and creative affect with a finger on the pulse of the media landscape, media trends, and DEI realities that shape and inform client workExpertise in breaking through to earn media that get clients excited, in both planned and opportunistic waysExcellent communications and presentation skills, as well as client service and account management with an ability to provide counsel on tough media situationsExperience multitasking across multiple initiatives while ensuring timeliness of deliverables and consistent client and internal communicationExperience creating deliverables to support media training for various types of spokespeople - client, KOL, patient, celebrity, etc.Ability to provide feedback to teams with a "yes, and" mentality, providing clarity and builds on how to make ideas more media worthyFamiliarity with MuckRack, Cision and other common media-relations tools and softwareBilingual (Spanish-speaking), preferred but not requiredPositive and flexible attitudeHighly organized and detail-orientedStrong communicator, creative thinker, and advanced writerCommitted to fostering an inclusive workplace environmentQualifications
