SUMMARY:

This position requires the ability to take direction from written or spoken ideas and convert them into images, layouts and other designs. As well as, assume responsibilities involved in accomplishing the marketing mission of serving the needs of the customers as well as the bank staff who serve the customers. It will involve marketing, promotion, and strong communication and interpersonal skills.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The following are included with the understanding that other duties may be assigned from time to time as necessary.

Skilled in using various channels to develop and design web content, brochures, signs, advertisements, and other communication material.

Strong organizational, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.

Assists with planning, implementing and monitoring the bank's various social media channels in order to increase brand awareness and promote marketing efforts.

Assists with Communicating/responding to comments and questions on various social media channels.

Assists in communications with traditional media - newspaper, outdoor advertising, and magazines.

Fulfills advertising requests as needed and manages advertising placement.

Assists in writing ad copy, and customer communications.

Assists in communicating marketing information bank-wide.

Assists in overseeing the design and graphics of marketing materials.

Assists with developing digital marketing strategies aligned with business goals and market trends.

Assists with helping to develop and implement marketing plans, and identify target audiences.

Assists with marketing projects, such as direct mail, research, and the compilation and reporting of those projects. As well as any bank-sponsored programs, branch openings, special events, and public relations events.

Must be proficient in Adobe programs such as, but not limited to InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop.

Experience creating professional content for Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and X (Formally Twitter) is preferred.

Must have experience with editing content (i.e., Photos, videos, Reels) and keeping up with constant trend shifts on social media platforms.

Assists with maintaining our Somerset Trust Company website.

Must regularly monitor and update content as well as ensure we are staying compliant through security measures and protocols.

Regularly monitor site performance to understand the needs and any issues that may arise.

Work to identify any tech issues with our instant chat system, AudioEye software, or any broken links.

Ability to work cross-functionally with other bank departments to implement new features and functionality and make sure content is continually relevant to their respective areas.

Knowledge with managing a CMS platform, coding, and building & fixing links is encouraged, but not required.

Understand and support all BSA/AML responsibilities as applicable to the position as well as consistently, accurately, and timely carry out these responsibilities in compliance with the Bank's internal policies.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position requires no direct supervisory responsibilities of marketing personnel, however on-site supervision of staff will be required at special events and marketing functions related to your role.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

A Bachelor'sdegree in marketing is preferred. Computer software knowledge is essential, particularly with Excel, Access, Word, Power Point and Adobe's Creative Suite - including Photoshop, illustrator, and InDesign. Experience in dealing with the public and customers is essential.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as media contracts and vendor agreements, and various correspondences. Ability to communicate well and speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization. Ability to write customer communications and press releases. Ability to proofread marketing materials, letters, communications, etc. Ability to be at ease in speaking with customers and non-customers for various reasons.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, quantity pricing, set-up fees, media costs, etc. Ability to work with marketing budget, estimating and monitoring month to month expenses versus budget.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
